Exactly wfp the lot versus wfp top trad bottom. I assume the 2 blokes did the whole house trad?

Maybe not 2.5 x faster on all but that depends on work , In my case i am a hobbit 5ft 2" could never reach most downstairs windows without using ladder or a crate .

Yesterday for instance i was doing houses with porches and bay windows quite tall as well years ago they used to take me 4 to 4 1/2 hrs , they now take 2hrs .

And some other work i was doing large rectangle bay windows about 2.5 mtrs wide at front  upstairs and downstairs as well  and tall as well and pretty high on the upstairs windows 12 of them to do front only at a guess with 1 man how long ???   . Mike

And this is the most important consideration with this upstairs WFP, downstairs trad speed debate. I'm a little taller than you Mike at 5'7" in your money, and I can't reach the top of the windows without steps or a crate. ( Using a crate is quicker but just doesn't look professional IMO). My son is 7" taller than I am and with his longer reach as well doesn't need to stand on anything for average windows.

For me it will take 2.5 times longer to do the downstairs tad than it does wfp.

Included in the time comparison is putting the WFP equipment away and getting out the trad equipment to do the bottoms.

For me its a no brainer, but if I didn't have a van and couldn't carry much water, then I would have no option but to do the bottoms trad.

im 6ft 2in and still cant reach all downstairs windows on some of my round! ;D ;D ;D ;D

for most work it is easier, faster and better to WFP all windows but trad still comes in handy for tight space work or certain areas where you dont want to leave water lying around like certain inside porches, doorways etc.

i always have a pouch on my belt with a few cloths in and its easy to add my boab and a bottle on a belt if needed for some trad work.

for instance i have some jobs where i have to climb on  very large flat roof extensions and its much easier to trad the windows above and of course inside windows!

certain commercial jobs also are easier using trad methods rather than dragging hose around.

use both by all means depending on the job but overall WFP is better and faster!! ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D

Dazmond why dont you just take pole up onto flat roof extensions thats what i do . I use a telescopic ladder for access and i can carry pole in one hand and collapsed tele ladder from truck and back very easily. Mike

It's got to be quicker to go and trad on top of flat roofs rather than take a pole and hose up a ladder

For a start you'll get up the ladder quicker on the glass quicker, no frames either trad.

Its a lot quicker to take your pole onto a flat roof and clean.
Just extend the pole and leave it sitting on the ground with the top sitting
3 or 4 ft. over the flat roof.
Climb up onto the roof and pull the pole up.
Allow enough spare hose at the bottom of the ladder to reach where you need to
work.

when i got my 1st van mount several years ago i still tradded the bottoms, this was a throw back from working with a trolley were water usage was an issue.

When I started to wfp the whole house I noticed a significant time saving on the job.
WE CLEAN BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT WITH WATER FED POLE WHEN WORKING AT HEIGHT.

Not saying its hard to get the pole up but why you're turning round to pull it up I'll be on the first window. Not saying there's much in it but imo I think trad is quicker.
I use wfp a tool just same as trad, if trads quicker I won't use the pole

taking into account you will need to go back to van to get trad gear or carry trad gear and wfp whilst doing 99.9% wfp just cant see how .

If you are wfp then you clean all the frames as standard so why give custy a lack of service by skipping frames doing trad on flat roofs . Mike

Why doesn't anyone trad tops and WFP bottoms. No drips!
