We have tried WFP top and bottom, but are getting a few complaints about runs and spots on the downstairs.

You will get more spots when the water runs off the top sills onto the tradded windows downstairs.
Wfp tops and rub the water off the sills after rinsing.do all the tops and then start the bottoms.you wont get spots.

i do tops and bottoms trad,    on sat   new round  a customer said if you are going to use that  dont bother she said she  was fed up of her previous cleaner leaving her walls and path wet, ,  had a couple,  this usually happens on new rounds where people are not use to you.    none of my old customers complain,  except one  with new leaded windows.  i have no bad customers thankfully.  you have to give and take a bit,   this time of year is different with the water drips turning to ice  on there fronts if too cold,  you will get a lot of comments saying dump.

the whole lot wfp, I have confidence in what I do was never going to be an option when I changed over from trad and still isnt unless of course the customer wants to pay extra then I would willingly trad bottoms after, IMO it gives a mixed message but each to their own, theres no right or wrong way. Just a choice

The only reason I don't wfp the lot is I'm operating from my car .

as I put above we clean everything wfp where possible which is not only IMO better as you wash the frames and glass but quicker.
Would like to here why you guys do this (not picking a fight or going to try and convert you, just interested why.

I do this but i make sure that I do all the top first. Then Trad on bottom windows, starting with first top window I cleaned.

i wfpoled everything today as i forgot my belt.super high flow rate and i must admit i was mega fast!!much quicker than tradding bottoms and im no slouch with a squeegee.(16 years as trad only).

i do trad the odd ground floor windows but mainly WFP as it is quicker overall.

this is my second account fella   worst of all, I stopped coming on here for nearly a year too

We WFP tops and trad bottoms for a number of reasons:

1 - Only have a 250ltr tank
2 - Two of us working with a 1 man setup
3 - Only been WFP for 6 months so am breaking it in to each customer slower (trad for 8 years)


My aim is to eventually get a bigger van, with a bigger tank, with a 2 man setup, but as it stands this is how we roll

I WFP up and down but all ways dry lower sills and door, think it just finishes the job properly. If I am running low on water then trad the bottoms

With respect to you all why the hell would you trad bottoms if you do it shows a lack of confidence in WFP and been a bit scared that custy wants downstairs windows without left  water on .

Of which  had one custy who wanted me to blade water off guess what dumped !!

And it take 2.5 times as long cleaning trad , Dazmond you carry 350 ltrs of water surely you can get a good days work with that amount of water.  . Mike

just pole everything, the sooner you do the better

,if they complain ask them to make sure your complaint is reasonable this should kill ocd people, ie a spot on a window or 1x bead on a window is within reason, its very unlikly that EVERY single window is finished to a poor standard also remind the customer what his or hers windows looked like before you started , and explain there is a limit to what we can do for the price and that you hope they feel the job is satisfactory i always got a yes at least from customers who actually wanted a window cleaner

Ian, To be honest I don't think there's a lot in it speed wise, wfp certainly isn't 2.5 x faster. No I don't clean the frames downstairs but my customers were all trad so they don't expect it. I'm thinking of doing the lot wfp just to see if it is quicker. I quite enjoy doing trad it breaks things up a bit. However should wfp be much quicker I'll probably do that.

I have found most are faster for the work we have just odds ones would have been quicker trad but I work as one rule for everybody.or half would have had me back on ladders given half the chance.

Would be interested on what happens when you try it out, could you let us know.?
