Get off,the pair of you, thats Ian and GD or come on here and explain what it is going to do and why and how to do it.
Get pragmatic, talk pragmatically or stop wasting everyone`s time.

GD`s got a whole new business from social media,i`d like to see the accounts. You lads are putting in 90 hrs a week talking and not earning.Well when you have the proper answers come back with them and stop idealising.
I thought i have made clear what I am doing, I'm asking what questions people wanted to know about social media so I could cover this. I earn from my window cleaning business I'm not sure i follow what your getting at or meaning nameless, I don't work with GD and I don't know about his business your talking about or accounts  ???

Ian, what is the point of attracting a whole new bunch of questions when there doesn`t seem to be a provision for you providing instant clear cut answers?

Jesus!,how difficult is it to know what a window cleaners wants from advertising?

This market research is about putting together a package of most likely groundless promises that can be charged for.

Do not worry, we will have another ' look at me ' post with ' guru ' explaining all, it might be free so people will say ' What a guy, what a hero ' , if you have to pay for it they will say ' what a guy, what a hero, he does need to earn '

nameless the market research is finding out what people want to know about this subject i know what i want from advertising but we are all different. im doing it so I don't waste my time making something of no interest to the reader. Why the hostility ?

James, clearly I will not be able to win either way with you, surprised you didn't come on sooner if I'm honest, really don't know what your problem is with me.

Ian, what about 'pinned posts' in groups?  They are handy.

I Stayed of the post despite watching where the post was heading, right from the word ' go ' it was easy to see

I have no problem with you, though you do like to ' put your head up and out of the trench '

for example

It is very easy to see what rhino does, most on here can see he just wants people to look at him , YOU either can not see it ( i doubt it ) or you thought you would get in on the act and defend him which will of course give you attention ?

i defended him purely because I hate to see negativity i cannot understand why people don't like to see others well, i looked at his post but didn't see pictures on links and people knocking him.

The point of this post in an ideal world would be for people to give me questions that they wanted to know about social media for window cleaning so to make it easier for me to compile it. I knew that was never going to be as easy as that. This is not a look at me post or I would have got people to a look at a website which I haven't.

I'm doing an article about this of course will have my name on it.

I`m probably hostile because i want you to come on here and "give" and i have the impression, perhaps wrongly, that you are manouvering to "take".

If i`m missing a trick then how about a few paragraphs detailing an expected successful strategy to adopt,i`d like the address of every twittering lunatic with dirty windows  within 15 miles of my own postcode and their current salary, relationship status and any peculiar vices they may have enabling me to pre-select the one`s i may wish to manipulate.

It would be good if the nice Mr Drudge and James Leet could "give" something to this post instead of ripping Ian apart

Lets just see where this is going before we pass judgement, as Ian says, he is nearly there with the votes.

How was i negative about your online business???
Your 1 of those blokes who you have to agree to disagree with.
All i did was checked out what you was bigging yourself up about using social media and to be honest i didnt find it that good or interesting at all. Anyone can setup a facebook or twitter account to advertise what they do however 99% of people use social media to socialise with. If joe bloggs wants a window cleaner he would go on yell.com over facebook or twitter any day of the week all they can do on twitter is follow and watch you being desperate for work offering all sorts of promotions like 50% off first clean etc where as i charge an extra 50% on first cleans. I have had roughly 20 customers from facebook from friends knowing what i do over 5 years. Around 50 from yell.com but the larger 1000+ customers have all came from canvassing and word of mouth using no advertising, leaflets or websites just plain old chasing the work myself which i am verey proud of achieving.
Social media doesnt even come close.

Social media is about networking, for most businesses it will never take over from other forms of promotion.

But and its a big but done properly it will HELP expand your business through brand awareness.

For The Tech Repair Centre it was an experiment to see how far you could go with social media, facebook is the main page but most of the work comes from my personal page through networking through the groups and just running a plain and simple ad. I get messages from friends of friends of friends because I am now known to a lot of people as the guy that fixes iPhones, ipads etc.

The experiment was purely a personal one to see if I could go from a standing start and turn it into a viable business. The next step is to take it into a major brand on Nottingham and the surrounding areas high streets... Then who knows how far it can go but all I know from the last few months is the market is there and people want them fixed....

You see Mick I try to write a nice considered answer for you and you just have another dig....

Can I ask why you have such an interest rise n shine?

I am actually involved in talks with two people at the moment about window cleaning projects if I really have to justify why I am here lol
