Can I ask a question? Why do window cleaners not use social media? It's a must for any small business, it can be ran from your phone and its always working once you have started to build your network. It's free apart from your investment of time, and most importantly IT WORKS!

I can't show you a window cleaner but I know literally dozens of social media success stories for all kinds of small businesses including cleaning companies if you are genuinely interested...

From my experience you only get out of social media what you put into it.

Our page was sitting there doing nothing just gathering the odd like every couple of weeks.

Once I started putting a bit of time, effort and a tiny bit of money into it, it started to generate more and more likes.

Over the past 4 months we've had a fair few people come through the Facebook.

Considering it has cost us a MAX of £30, I'd call it a success.

I may start 1 up on fb and state that for every confirmed regular customer i pay £5 to the person who got me the deal, could get untolds of good work from it with everyone going out canvassing to earn easy money.
Imagine 500+ people recomending you to there friends and family, knocking on doors so they get there commision. School mums will pass info on to other mums etc.
I can see a big campaign if worded right working as at the end of the day money talks.

So long as you set the T & C'c for the offer correctly Mick, sounds good. I may try that myself. I charge 50% more for first cleans in that situation, to cover any one offs.

Haven't used my WC page much in the last 18 months, but that sounds good.
No still don't understand, I must be thick

What is the most effective way to get real "likes" on a facebook page from people who are genuine potential customers - not friends/family/forum buddies etc?

I'm currently working on building up this facebook page, so specific tips would be appreciated! http://www.facebook.com/AvondhuInternet

Why ask Nat to remove his link?

Interesting link I thought. Keep it there Nat.

Especially as my website is on there  ;)

What actually qualifies you as a social media expert by the way Ian? Have you got an NVQ?

did I say I was a social media expert or did you dave ?
I will let Nat decide if he understands what I mean. I am not dragging this post down so if you have a question about social media please ask it and will see if I can cover it.
Directing questions at me are not what this post is about.

Hi Dave,

I am interested to know why you think window cleaning is different to any other business on social media? You only seem interested in window cleaning, do you not think what works in other industries is relevant?

Ian, don't tell me when I can and can't post you berk.

I asked why you think your information would be regarded as the best. Seeing you have no qualifications to write a guide in the first place. How do we know it's for real?
You've set yourself out to be an expert on this - you might not have a clue what you're talking about.
