Cancellation fee
« on: November 26, 2012, 07:26:51 pm »
Hey all

Ok so I got a text from a client a couple of weeks ago:  "Hi, sorry we are going to have to cancel the window cleaning service for the time being - we are having some work done on the house which will take about six months so there's no real point in coming for a good while - hope you understand"

Now I've always got on really well with this client and her hubby and we had a regular laugh when I called for payment and if we bumped into each other when out and about.  So I sent a text back saying "sorry to hear that but no problem - if you could send a cheque for £50.00 through for the cancellation fee that would be great - all the best"   ;D ;D Now I fully expected to get a call back pretty sharpish and intended to wind her up a bit more; but she didn't call back and I completely forgot about it.

So you can guess what arrived with the post today!!   :o :o

I called her up and confirmed I would rip up the cheque - luckily she saw the funny side.

Just a heads up in case you wanted to explore another revenue stream!!!

Cheers, Tom
