read a few post on here where its said that you can save money on fuel by buying a smaller van and using customers tap to top up, surely thats not very proffesional or is it just me, you wouldnt get a plumber saying to use my tools cause he didnt buy a van or car to save money so he came on his bike and couldnt carry his own, or am i just being daft, if youre running a business its up to you to use the correct vehicle / tools for the job and price accordingly

It depends on the customer, I suppose. And they are not actually filtering it for you, are they?

I wouldn't use custies water but, when doing new jobs, I always get told "Theres an outside tap if you need it"....  :

It looks unprofessional.
And it may give them the idea that it's only tap water that we use.
I connect to customers tap if they don't mind, they're not in and only on really bad conservatory roofs then finish with WFP water.
