can any body help. Selling my iveco 35s12 looking at buying a vauxhall combo 1.3 van can this van handle a 500 litre water tank

yes I have one in mine ..... but not legal to drive on road as over payload with other equipment however on big jobs where van dont move and I connect to a water supply and purify into tank it comes in handy.

however I have a friend of a friend who used his daily with 500 litres in it

being totally honest I filled mine to 400 litres and it handled fine ... now just fill to 350 litres and thats enough for 2 of us on a busy day of about 22 / 26 ish houses

yeah have 2 iveco's fed up of large fuel bills.I have 2 men running from i van and me in the other thats why down sizing to the combo was thinking flow rate around 50 just 1 man set up.do you think it will last around 7 hours around 17 semi detatch properties thanks for your advise

I think 17 houses should just be about right but you can carry a spare DI vessel and find an obliging customer with an outside tap to top up just in case

17 houses @ 20 litres a go = 340 litres

nope its the old 1700 Di version so payload of 600kilos

which when 1 up and 350 litres just on limit

I have a 350 in mine and i reckon thats about as much as they can take, 400 perhaps but 500 not a chance, you will go through clutches and brake pads like theres no tomorrow

I was thinking the same mike on the 1.7 di is not even a turbo.

My mate a brodex 500 system in one and it used to smoke like hell and could hardly move lol

mines a flying machine ... esp when empty but anything feel faster than my transit.

350 / 400 litres pulls just fine

whichever model engine you get it doesnt matter make sure you get a 2000 model not the 1700,

tbh the combos arnt very good vans i've had 2 of them and wouldnt buy another, not just saying this because i'm selling it lol but the fiat doblo is a much better van
