Dodgy batch of resin. ??
« on: November 26, 2012, 11:20:11 am »
Normally buy my resin from Gardiners and always comes in a sealed tub.

My 4040 outputs at 5 to 8 ppm and always let it run for ten minutes straight into IBC before connecting to resin vessel as first few minutes 4040 output is 15 ish and prefer to let it "warm up" as it were - maybe anorak behaviour but can get 6 months from my 7ltr DI vessel before tds starts to rise.

Ordered some from another supplier as needed a few bits and pieces off them and they sent resin in a clear plastic bag secured with a cable tie.

Put this resin into the DI last Sunday when I changed prefilters and thought great this will see me thru to the spring time now ... think Ive produced about 2000 litres max  since last Sunday.

Filled my IBC overnight lastnight and IBC full of 001 tds - ok not end of world but output from 4040 was 007tds before I connected it to the DI.

Gonna see what my 4040 producing a little later in case thats gone kaput (hopefully not !! but it is 3 years old) but suspect resin at fault.

Anyone else has this problem with dodgy resin ?
