I'm I not getting this?
I've been an apprentice and it involved structured learning over a number of years.
The first year spent full time at college and day release thereafter.
The practical side was monitored and skills assessed periodically to a set standard recognised nationally by the industry body.
Have any of you got this type of thing in place?
Also how long does it take to complete an apprenticeship in window cleaning?

basicly this is yts youth training scheme but for 21st century they work for me and the college comes out and checks on his progress and it can take as long as the learner

how long has it taken you to learn everything you need to learn ?

To be honest not long,I learnt trad in a couple of hours from another windy. Wfp looked around a bit on here, watched a couple of vids on YouTube or just picked it up.

I got told  by a top dog at iss that you can
Get a 16-24 yr old for 16 hrs per week and
After 6 month you basically are given your
Money back you've paid them in wages.
 They just keep em for 6 months even if there
crap as there free then keep the good ones
And get some more and so on..

A college close to me ran a scheme exactly the same as this ... a friend of mine had 2 or 3 lads at a time from them ... some he kept on and some who didnt wantto work were let go and sent back for a replacement.

We have a apprentice, started with us in august. Has regular collage to continue his core skills. After he,s done with it all I hope we,ll have a lad capable of becoming a team leader in our business.
