Shocking weather
« on: November 22, 2012, 08:04:27 am »
Weather is supposed to be terrible today with heavy rain and upto 58mph winds,
I'm really far behind so need to get out there and work,
Will customers start moaning if i turn up?
Is anyone else working today? Should we just get out there and work?
I'm from west midlands

Go away...... I even gave one Custy the choice as it was bouncing
Of the roads when I got to his, his reply," can you still do them
It will be funny watching you work in this " and to be fair he
Stood in garage talking to me while I cleaned front.
Looking a bit better today so have fun everyone

I'm getting so fed up with the weather. Today yet again I can't work. This time it's the strength of the wind. This year from May onwards the strong winds and heavy rain seem to have been the constant theme.

I'm way behind with every job and sitting indoors for days on end is doing my head in. It's reaching a point where I'm now thinking of jacking it all in.

It's a bad week, yes, but we've had this poo before and got through.  For me, the worst thing is facing that mountain of work when we get back when the weather settles.  It's a bit boring sitting around, so get some 1000 piece jigsaws of Windsor Palace in to amuse yourself.

Going to hammer here later on, and the custards know it.  Even if you don't pee them off today, they won't forget that you did them in the rain and won't be happy with you and are then more likely to dump you in the future.

the last part is total rubbish sorry Barnes

To the poster that said about the windspeed do you use an anometer to check the windspeed or is that what the tv is telling you ?

Rain makes no difference it's the wind that's a nightmare I feel for you guys up there
It hammered down this rain yesterday and still got the work done and picked up new customer

Very funny.  :-[  I bet you enjoyed writing that.  ;D

Seriously though, I'm just so fed up up this stop start working since May and this frequent dire weather that seems to be just carrying on.

Most of my work is along the coast. I did a large job on Monday which took all day and is a nice earner. The lady phoned up yesterday and said while she's more than happy to pay me, if next time it looks like being windy after I'm due to clean her windows, please would I leave it a while as her windows were covered in salt within a day of me cleaning them.

I've had quite a number of regular customers say similar this year. Mix that with rounds getting messed up because half gets done and the rest get put off because of the weather, and then multiply that out over 8 months of the same?

Going out to work each day regularly almost seems to have become a thing of the past.

Axminster has a spectacular Marina - not bad seeing as it's about five miles form the Sea.

We've just come in from doing the weekly shopping!  And she's going back out to do some running.  I'm considering getting my off-road running shoes on and heading for some mud.

Maybe after this cup of coffee eh?  ;D

I'll work Saturday morning if the weather is any better; I think tomorrow is okay for us too.
