How about the following for the forum rules?  Thoughts?

REVISED RULES - CIU

All members are to show consideration towards other members views, and any posts which involve racism, swearing (including the use of asterixes and other methods of that ilk), pornography, malicious name calling or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated.

It is accepted that some of the above can be interpreted as subjective, therefore if you're in doubt, do not post.

Bans and temporary bans are at the discretion of the moderators and are the likely result of violating the rules, particularly if we don't like you.

Please remember to use the 'report to moderator' button if you see something offensive on the forum.

There's been a few racist comments in the past five months or so; the last was in a post about 'bad customers'.

What Happens if Griffin's cleaning takes out a banner, Nick will be able to post what he wants

I'm seriously considering it. I won't let our wonky eyes posts, though.
Besides, he's only the sill wiper in the family business. I'm the weal bwains and I'm not racist apart from.........

If it annoys you, complain to forum admin!  I've added a bit more to the rules too.  But I would like a codified set of rules to make moderation easier and let us all know where we stand.

As I say, we need rules, gents, without rules we will have Glasgow.

And we can say, "Hoy, bonny lad, that's not allowed in accordance with forum rules!", which to be fair I am asking for feedback from and will have to get agreement from forum admin before I can sticky them.

So it's to make our lives easier, really, to try and keep the forum a friendly, safe place to visit.
