It doesn't matter too much what type of glass it is; and I can think of one instance where hydrophobic is better than hydrophilic.

Not tried it and the reason from the little information I know about it it does not last long and would cost you more in time trying to change it to hydrophilic with the only benefit of the water sheeting instead of beading for a while

It'll be something to do with the frames, or the seals, not the glass itself.  It doesn't matter if the glass spots or sheets when you clean it.

Well, actually, one instance I can think of where it does matter, it's the sheeting glass that causes problems.

If someone was to invent a solution that gauranteed sheeting water they would make a fortune.

I hate hydrophobic glass, and to be fair there are different extremes of beading - some is okay and comes with experience yet some is just a horrid pain and opens up anxieties about hoping they dry clean.

Touch wood I don't have any problems in a broad sense but I just wonder how much time and water I could save knowing the water that cascades down the window on hdrophillic does the same job as boringly working the brushhead over the glass.

Hydrophillic glass DOES look worse on a first clean but then we all know the risks of cleaning old windows and deal with it accordingly. It is also worth noting that hydrophillic glass kind of looks 'better' when wet as it doesn't have the 'rainy day' appearance and drains quicker.

there are solutions like rain x and a host of others they cover surface of glass it is the application that's time consuming which means it is not something we could do commercially just to clean windows regular it could be used as an add on service though.
I am yet to find glass that does not dry spotless so I cannot comment as I only use 000 tds water if there is spots its user error from frames, vents, seals or from not cleaning or rinsing enough

imo some windows never take to WFP
and what's the problem if glass beads or sheets,i think this is all down to psychology on our behalf,if its clean then its clean regardless of the glass.
Why dont you use fan jets and just saturate the glass

hydrophobic shoots the dirt into beads hence why we prefer hydrophilic which sheets taking dirt down with it, fan jets are better for hydrophilic glass if you want to use them as they cover more area I just fine them sloppy so use pencils

Dave try dunking your brush in a bucket of water after using G101 to remove all chemical before window cleaning.I also had a problem with these detergents sticking to the brush after first cleans and spotting glass. Until I dunked the bush into a custies water butt which stopped the spotting. Also increase the water flow rate.

Flow rate in psi does not effect the liters per min. Some have a 4 liter per minute I have a 7 liter per min some flow rate  will differ a back pack is 2.6 per minute. But you just need more water and a clean brush. Some advice saving water its not wise to save to much as we float the dirt off the glass and  dilute any chemical so a clean brush as the detergent will stick in the brush even when you hose it off. Submerse the brush  in clean water is the answer and it will clean the brush at the same time. The stronger the detergent the more difficult it is to desolve TRF is the worst. Ecover is the best  to brake down and rinse out. G101 is good I have not tried the other but will with time. Maybe you need to dilute a little more what ever you use.
