as above.does george not run on a mac?as my girlfriend is getting the latest iphones and ipads for her business maybe its time i switched as ive been having a few problems with windows updates etc.

what do you guys use software wise with mac computers?

vmware or parralells lets u run windows on a mac at the click of the mouse..

also if you are going iphone/ipad route. get aworka .

no need for  windows then

gotta disagree really, macs are way easier once learned.
bit like switching from rat tailed mop to slx wfp , = really weird at first but omg its now too easy.....
would deffo agree on using iphone for aworka.

i use my ipad to update mainly and its a joy to use.

"Complicated"? I've never heard that word associated with Macs before! Expensive, yes but complicated,no!

As has been previously stated, to run Windows software like George, you need to have a program such as Parallels or VMWare. I have three Macs and use Parallels on all of them just to run a single Windows program! I've never had any problems with my setup, touch wood.

Nothing is difficult to do so long as you read the instructions.

just use aworka.  it looks a air bit like the mac calendar programme anyway.  i know macs are expensive but in my experience they outlast the lives of buying 2 cheaper ps's

Daz, I've got both iMac and PC and in my opinion Macs are better than PCs for using the internet. Macs don't attract viruses so no real need for virus software. Also you don't get annoying pop up messages all the time. Macs are very intuitive and you can just sit and play with it without doing any real damage. Also you can download a free trial of Aworka so you can input some custys and give it a go. You get a good trial period to decide if you like it or not. I am slightly bias because i've used Macs ever since they first came out (that's a while ago) and I also use a few graphics packages. If you want to make your own website the Mac has Iweb software built in. Not sure if it's any good but apparently it's real easy to use. If I had to sum it up, a Mac is a bit like your van, you work with it and you sort of bond with it and it becomes a bit special for no real reason. The PC is more like a car (i'm not much into cars) and you just get on with it. Anything I can help with, just ask.

Couple of things I need to point out here - iWeb is no longer supplied with Macs. It wasn't particularly good so that's no loss. Also, although Macs are inherently more secure than Windows based PCs, there are virii out there than can infect Macs. They are rare though.

As for the annoying pop ups, it depends on the browser you use. The latest versions of Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox and Safari all have pop up blockers built in. They may need to be turned on but it doesn't matter if you use a Mac or Windows.

thanks for the guys who have posted for and against!im just toying with the idea at the moment.i have had problems printing worksheets and invoices out on george due to new windows updates! i now have used system restore to restore to an earlier date and all seems to be working fine now!!

Kindle has different OS not sure how compatable it is is with certain programs . And did anybody see watchdog some early kindle's were knackered in less than a year , Amazon under warranty provided custys with replacment then second one went kaput after about 8  months and guess what .

Warranty on replacement products is only 3 months if i was going to buy a tablet i would go with IPad for now until kindle has been out a while . Mike
