my take on his van set up?

rubbish poles and brushes

rubbish gloves(not waterproof)

i use microbore instead of minibore(easier to manage)

pump set up with 25L barrel........erm.....not for me!

folding warning signs are rubbish(they blow over when its windy)

i prefer unger ergotech squeegees rather than the cheap ones he s got.

he looks like a young wagga!!fair play if it works for him! ;D ;D ;D ;D

some people just like faffing about scrimping and scraping and making things to go with their set up.i have better things to do with my time when not window cleaning!lol. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

good video though lee!! ;) :) :) :)

best wishes to everyone

dazmond

The pump with barrel is only used on a few houses, the van has 2 shurflo 100psi pumps in it, one for each hose!
The fold up signs are only use inside, not much wind there!!!!

Inside what?

He must have spent ages doing all the details, but to me it does not look like a working van . . . . just a show van !

I think he also has OCD .

In total it only took 4 days to fit out, the van is working 5days a week,
Lolno not OCD, just keeping a tidy van, image is everything! Lol

Inside commercial properties, where there are a lot of people walking about.

Nice tidy van with some good ideas Daz you should not knock the bloke really , He has given things a lot of thought and spend a good bit time doing it .

But cant understand using spiral hose it will 4-5 times heavier than standard pole hose and most probably more expensive . It most be some weight to clean at height . Mike

The hose isn't heavy at all, it's not the hose everyone think it is.

It's pretty obvious the coiled hose is not the standard hozelock type coiled hose. It's also pretty obvious that if you've spent that much time and trouble to organise your van the way you have, you'd hardly be using hose that was so heavy it's almost impossible to use when window cleaning wfp.

I was impressed by your van. I have a Transit Connect and everything, while all very functional, is just stuffed in in a sort of semi organised fashion it isn't well thought out. Now though, having seen that video, I'm going to think it all through over the next few weeks and really work out where everything needs to go and make all the modifications to make working life easier.

Also, I was incredibly impressed by your portable pump. That is a real gem of an idea. Thanks for that.

Thanks, the portable pump is now built into a waterproof casing with a controller on it now, I have a more detailed tour of the van on my youtube, Yer with a small van you are limited for space and have to make the most of it.
Glad that's it given u some ideas and helps your working time easier!

Stay away from any type of flow controller. If you don't already use one, all you need is a £10 voltage regulator from maplins. It weighs nothing, is small, easy to fit and simple to use and does the job perfectly. If it packs up, you disconnect the two wires and join them together and carry on working plus all it has cost you is a tenner.

Yer that's the sort of thing I use, well not the ones from maplin. Lol keep you say that are lightweight and cheap, they do a better job than the digital ones, and they don't draw. The power when not in use!

Yes, very neat but it doesn't look like it's been used a lot. Do your applicators go mouldy after use in that box and stink the van out?
My van isn't that neat, it's usually grubby, normally pretty damp too from dripping brushes and soggy applicators in their tool rack and normally stinks from wet gloves  :-X

Well done Richard for staying up so late and answering all the posts nice to have you on here mate i was not knocking you just making an observation .

Well thought out ideas, I struggle to put a shelf up at home so would not criticise anyone who is a capable person

Mark i stopped using applicators for inside jobs and only use spray bottle as you are right they really stink and using a spray bottle is just as quick . Mike

I don't do much trad work, they only get used on 5 jobs a month, unless someone else wants inside doing, so they go in the house after being used and washed out and dried then put into box. Same with gloves and micro fibre cloths etc. But yer I know what you mean, it's not the best smell in the world!

I thought it's only best to try and answer what i can as from the video you can't really see or tell how things really are.
Thanks, in that video that is the vans 3rd look since I got it in February, and since that video it has changed again with the addition of heater and hot water system, so it's a little out dated.

Lee

The Harris Pole is no less of a manufactured pole than one from any supplier.

all you have to do is fit a threaded end, then it is no different at all.

The only reason wfp retailers dont sell them is because they are so cheap, and they cant make profit on them
