Gutter Cleaning Issues
« on: November 03, 2012, 10:17:42 am »
Good Morning,

Firstly sorry if this is the wrong forum if so please can you move it to a more appropriate forum?

I have brought a gutter Vacuum & Poles only a cheap set to start with but its doing ok first thing is i need to upgrade from the VAC King it is not powerful enough but i went to price a job yesterday i just can't work out how to do.

The property is a Nice sized house with an extension with a shear pitched roof this is where the problems go because for the 10 meters of the extension i wont be able to clean the gutter at my usual angle i will have to use additional poles and do at an angle but due to the angle i don't think i have the physical strength to hold them am looking for suggestions help tips anything that means i can quote this job and complete it

Thank you in Advance

Nathan

iv'e done over conservertories before why are you worried about the weight once the poles are in the gutter then most of the weight is took by the gutters.

Not really! it depends of the size of the conservatory!

Photos Should be Attached

I am very new to gutter cleaning and am learning but its a curve and jobs that arn't standard are a bit scary and i would rather be in control of the big alli poll i have in the air to clean, its also very very mossy so am concerned about this also

i Should also add its old cast guttering in places that doesn't look to pretty

My Concern is it wont be able to take the weight it is quite ropey in places and the first section under the window is dipping already before any weight is put into it

Thanks

there is nothing wrong with that job
with ali poles  you should be able hold the pole and lift it up

get a short ladder resting on lower gutters,     then use the vac this way,    working along gradually,  moeing along . remember dont pull weight dowm as you could dislodge the gutter from facia.          if unsure give an excuse and wait for next job.  look out for lighter poles
