On  the current  new machine , the one fitted with the induction pump , they seem to have switched from lamb Ametek motors to Electro motors  , like ashbys and mytee .

http://www.janitorialdirect.co.uk/product/?pid=5011

hard to tell what vac model as the electros look the same ... better price here

http://www.carpetcleaningmachinerepairs.co.uk/Vacuum_Motors.html

They did briefly.
Back onto Lambs now.
We had one guy change his machine after a year for a Lamb one because he didn't like the rattling sound of the Electros.
It didn't half pull though.
Anyone reading who has a newer machine with Electros you need to get an upgrade for the waste tank elbow as it can suck water straight into the stand pipe.

Interesting , rattling a one off ?  no sign of noise in  Ashbys video , or the Mytee vids ..
Did they revert to the standard Lambs ?  a step backwards surely ?

Thats funny i did have a brand new Prochem Powermax with the 150psi induction pump.

But my customers were complaining of the noise it sounded like a helicopter.
It was diff louder than my older Powermax & yes it did suck very well.

John...

I just emailed Carpet cleaning machine repairs about vac motor.

Dunno , might be a design feature in the powermax exaggerating the noise  ...
I don't hear anything unusual in the infamous Ashbys vs Airflex vids ..

They should make some effort to dampen the machine noise also like Alltec and some others do .

There was absolutely nothing wrong with the machine and the new owner is getting great service from it.

He just felt that it sounded like the vacs were going to go on it.

This was after the first week and like I say it's still going strong now without incident.

Hi

Prochem even changed my vac motors but it still sounded the same.

So they refunded me

Hi John

Spoke to Carpet cleaning machine repairs today.

He said i have to give him the numbers on the vac motors. The reason for this is to find out the watts
if below 1200 watts i might need to upgrade the other vac.

It would work if its over 1200 watts & upgrade the other vac to hi-lift vac.

The Hi-lift vac are Ametek motors not Electro motors.

He said the best way is to take the machine to him to have a play.

Doing a big commercial job tomorrow....I booked Wednesday off so
will have a look at vacs for numbers.

Now it gets confusing  :D

This guy has two motors listed on his e-bay site  , one is Lamb Ametek  , the other is Electro  ( the white motor endings )   if he is not selling the electro why is he using the electro pic ?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/GENUINE-3-STAGE-VACUUM-MOTOR-CARPET-CLEANING-MACHINE-1500W-/140867056634?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item20cc54b3fa

http://www.ebay.com/itm/GENUINE-Lamb-5-7-Vacuum-Motor-3-Stage-117123-13-1400W-Carpet-Cleaning-Machine-/140865443726?pt=UK_Vacuum_Cleaner_Bags_Parts&hash=item20cc3c178e

also , not sure why he asks if the motor is less than 1200w ... he should know there is no full size extractor with a motor lower than that ...   if your motor is a two stage i would change it alright .

The reason for choosing the Electro is because it is a 600+ airwatt tapered  fan motor  ,  the 1400w lamb on the other hand has about 450 airwatts .

U could just fit two 1400w Ameteks, many have done that on one cord  .

Cheers John

Not sure he just told me they were Ametek motors ?

I might just go down your route 1400 x 2 vacs

Where would be the best place to get them from.

I did buy parts from Accessory Planet but looks like he`s gone

Thanks for help

looks gone alright  ,  that  machinerepair  ebay guys prices look similar .

If it was me i think i'd get two £59 1500w Italian ameteks from Jackson spares   ....
seems to be out of them for now on e-bay

Some prefer the American Lamb Ametek   ( really Chinese/Mexican  :-X )
