Should be straightforward.
It's the bigger pumps you can't do yourself.
Like mine.

Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

Make sure all the jubilee clips are tight, thats about it really, oh and when you run it first time with water, where the solution hose goes in press the nipple in with a small screw driver until water comes through. otherwise you will have air lock

Hi Ben

Just done my powermax with a 135 psi pump only thing was to cut down the rubber feet a bit to get the 2 nuts on.

Thanks Richard,
It's these sort of tips that make life easier when tackling these sort of jobs if your not that technically minded. Have you had your power max for long? I'm tempted with the Airflex Storm but the power max has served me so well I keep putting it off.
Ben.

Hi Ben

Had it for a long time now, always find it very easy to get bits for it ie Ebay etc.

Was also going for the Storm but still hanging on with the old Powermax for now.

Waiting for Prochems new machine to come out next year.

On  the current  new machine , the one fitted with the induction pump , they seem to have switched from lamb Ametek motors to Electro motors  , like ashbys and mytee .

hard to tell what vac model as the electros look the same ... better price here

It should be the same motor as Mytee uses so it would have close to 150" lift and 115 CFM    ,  compared to  137" and  95 CFM  for the lamb Ametek

Hi John

Is it item number 101 ?

Spoke to Prochem last week and they said i have to use the 1200 watt motors not  sure why when most extractors are using 1400/1500 watt motors  ???

On the label on the back of machine is says 2860 watts ?

Its an old Powermax with the white twist lock ball float.

Richard , I dont know powermax very well at all  ,  I cant even tell if its series or parallel as the figures on the prochem site are stated for both series and parallel at the same time which is wrong .

Your older powermax is likely a one cord machine ?  ...  and perhaps not very thick cord at that  , so i'd say to meet electrical standards they have to fit the low amp  1200w motors ( probably about 5-6 amps each ) and the pump one same cord .
Many i'm sure , have replaced the 1200w motors with 1400 lamb themselves with no electrical problems ...  but what we can do and what the manufacture can legally do might be different .

If the newer machine is using the high powered Electro motors then its likely to be two cord machine ...  or at least have 2.5mm cord fitted .
Each of those Electros draw almost eight amps .

Electro have a powerfull two stage which would suit an older one cord machine better ( about 6 amps ) but u would have to import youself .

Might be best to talk to prochem and ask them which machine is using the Electro's ...  and how many cords etc

Ashbys are using the Electro on one cord ... but they combine it with a lower amp draw motor .

Hi John

Yes mines on a one cord machine but its a orange thick cord like the heavy duty extension leads type.

Its a series machine with gaskets on the bottom plate.

I might be able to get the Electro motors from Ashbys as i live near by.

If i get one Electro motor and run it with the other 1200 watt motor will this work ?

I do like the new Enforcer machine it looks a well built.

Yes Richard , you could copy Ashbys series setup as a simple upgrade ...
Im sure the weaker motor they use would have similar spec to the 1200w lamb
Would be good to ask ashbys opinion anyway .

This is a similar use of high power motor combined with weak motor ..
Its a quad setup but same principle ...  the vertical motors ( high powered two stage electro ) are connected to the waste tank .  The horizontal weak three stage is helping the vertical motor , giving more lift .

I also like the Enforcer design  ...
if they built an external booster using the same two vacs in series that you could plug into the enforcer waste tank in parallel , it would raise portable performance to another level !

Just make sure its the one in the pic ...  the carpetcleaningmachinerepair guy is selling it on e-bay but its labeled a lamb ametek  ....
i say its just an error ... the electros have the white corners on the motor

They did briefly.
Back onto Lambs now.
We had one guy change his machine after a year for a Lamb one because he didn't like the rattling sound of the Electros.
It didn't half pull though.
Anyone reading who has a newer machine with Electros you need to get an upgrade for the waste tank elbow as it can suck water straight into the stand pipe.
