Pole hose twisting...again
« on: October 30, 2012, 12:10:59 pm »
Been having loads of trouble with my pole hose twisting, doing my nappa in! It's the latest (I think?) gardiners. Because of the recent temperature drop, the pole has become hard and ultimately un-manageable.

So decided to give the very soft gardiners hose I dumped in summer another go. It's excellent, because of the softness of the tubing, it hardly tangles and takes 2 seconds to sort if it does.  ;)

Hi KINGAKNAA
Is this hose very old stuff you had or is it still available?
Wife works with me and her hose Gardiners is constantly in a tangle >:(
If you don't mind me asking Why did you dump it in Summer what was unsuitable at the time?

We've all whined (or a lot of us have) about the old Gardiner's pole hose, and now you're saying it's great in the cold.

I bet Alex is face-palming himself now. ;D

Personally, I think window cleaning is great - apart from the customers - and I bet he sometimes thinks the same!

Yes that is the best hose the very soft one from when you could pick soft or hard hose. I have been trying the aqua dapter hose and no tap but the soft hose and tap is a lot better and faster :o for me anyway.

I've tried just about every pole hose going and nothing seemed to be perfect in different conditions. I dumped it in summer as it wouldn't snugly fit the pole hose tap that I was using without leaking. The soft compound was just too soft, Alex did say that it wasn't suitable at the time! Although I've now put the inserts in the tap and the softer hose works much better.

Granny...I think Alex dumped the old soft stuff, not available anymore, as Tosh mentioned, lots of people whined about it, I was one of them. It was too soft, but I've definitely found in the colder conditions it fantastic. Had another full day today in coldish conditions and had 1 tangle I sorted in 5 seconds!

Bradley, I've just been using the red aquadapter hose and its become unmanageable in the cold.

Alex could you resurrect the soft pole hose please....lol.... ;D

The best pole hose I've ever used was on an old Ionics yellow fibre glass 18 foot pole.  The pole was bonk (though probably cutting edge in it's day), and the black pole hose was just perfect.

Buy the hose that Sureclean sell. It's similar to the last Gardiners hose only it's even better. Best all round hose I've used. No need for any inserts at all.
I tried aquadapter hose - the less said about that the better.

This is so wierd.
My pole hose is (Gardiners) "new stuff" and don't really have a problem with twisting.
Wife on the other hand  :o ??? Same hose different story.
Best solution I've found, after every job, when you're cleaning the pole hose and packing up undo a clamp on the pole and spin the brush head clockwise or anti-clockwise 3 or 4 times depending on how you work and what way the twist lies.
You'll soon find out if you've got it right.
Nicky never does this and often during the day we have to spin her brush head up to a dozen times to free the tangle.
One day I'm going to spin her head a dozen times ;D ;D ;D

It all goes hard in the winter, unless warm water is flowing through it.
