I have had a few enquiries gorgeous gutter clearing but don't want to spend loads on a gutter vac .
I have a 1200 watt George wet and dry at home , has anyone used one for domestic gutters ?

Will it do the job ?

not powerful enough, you need minimum 2400w to do a good job!

No you don't ben thats why everyones got Clarkes 1400w and the george 1200w will also work iv'e tried both wattages no problem on domestics no matter what watt vac you have there will always be a time when you need ladders.

clarkes 1400w is rubbish, you don't know what you are talking about! did you work with a 3000w vac?

just use a slightly less diameter pole to maintain decent suction. i use a 1400w and found it just fine on domestics upto 20ft tried on a larger job at 40ft and didnt work to well.

in 3 years of vac'ing we have never ever needed ladders using the Omnivac

Iv'e got a 3000w vac and yes it is better but when i had the clarke and a 1200w karcher which i used they still done a good enough job your saying you need 2400w at least which is Billox you don't know what ya talking about use the clarke make some money then upgrade if you feel the need.

i have the clarke and i just bought a 3000w vac with carbon poles. With my 3000w vac i don't need ladders! what is the point to use a gutter vac if you need a ladder, just useless!

well even with my 3000w vac iv'e been up the ladder cause sometimes when the tiles are overhanging gutter and the big lumps of soil are lodged they just won't budge you mite spend half hour with vac to budge were i'd rather get ladder remove in 5mins then vac the rest.

We do around £300 a month on gutters with a few Clarke vacs and not had any problems.

rg - these threads always go the same way - if you've brought a larger vac then you have wasted your money

1400 gutter vacs will i'm sure do a standard house even a heavily overflowing gutter but several times i've seen
owners of these state they then use ladders to unblock the downpipe

to me thats crazy a 3000w + should and will pull out embedded roots and muck from the downpipe plus i can put a 20 mtr flexi pipe on it and suck around an entire house without moving the vac

yes it needs a larger genny but this just stay's on the van so no hassle their either.

I don't have the money for a high wattage vac yet and I was going to use diy poles for now .

Cheap as chips when I already have the vac :-)

Only wanted to know if it will work on domestics until I make a few  quid and upgrade .
