A reserve is a minimum you would like to reach. The point of an auction is to reach a price that a person sees the item is worth and hopefully both buyer and seller get a good deal from it.

It makes no difference to hold what your reserve is.

why does ebay not show the reserve then on the auction so it can be public so all buyers can see it if that's the case.

I'm not really that bothered but if your item fails to sell and the bidder was only a pound under then who's losing out. Get a grip, its only a reserve of what you would like for it and a bidder was asking.

Oh and ebay makes extra when a reserve is added. Think about it.......

Not getting into a debate over this, but cheers for you input. Fully aware its more to have a reserve and if someone is really keen to get started in this business at a pinch of what it would be to buy all new they will snap it up, if not then I guess i will hold on to it, that's life.
