Good evening, its been a while since ive been on here.I am wondering if any body out there could help me.
I am in the process of taking on more work and one off the jobs is done using a guy who has IRATA not sure which level i will be finding out tomorrow.Now my concern is that i am paying for this work and this job is the bulk bit so need to get it right before handing out money.The job ive managed to look at briefly on google maps, looking at it ,it seems to be very deep seels and even deeper ledges.
So dont look like i can WFP it even with long G/N. now the lady im buying the work off, does it with a chap, who has IRATA .So i dont want to be stuck in a situation in terms of H/S, WHEN COMING TO DO THE RISK ASSESMENT  method statement,concerning the job. Seems to me its harness and bit of rope and ledge walking.But what level should this chap be ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.Dave.

This chap should not be 1 chap, there should always be two rope access guys on site (in case of rescue situation).
There needs to a level 3 supervising at least.

Yup. One level 3 and either a level 1 or 2 (or 3).

Not only for rescue but in case of a medical emergency as level 3 also includes that.

Level 1 has to have their equipment put on by a level 3 and then inspected as safe and level 2 can put on their own equipment but still have to have it inspected by a level 3 plus a level 3 has to make sure the anchor points are safe.

Having said that, I have seen people doing roped access work on their own and sometime for large companies as by and large, who's to know...... untill something goes wrong.

Thanks very much for your comments. It helps a lot , as i know nothing about IRATA been cleaning windows, man and boy but never any experience with ropes .So if somethings seems to good to be true it usually is .This company im thinking of buying has only this job on there books big payer every 3 months, but the lady tells me the managing firm have involved some other body to control there H/S.So this lady has nothing in place at the moment so could not just turn up and clean,i think shes just passing on a headache and lots of H/S paper work.And shes asking for all the money up front...ALARM BELLS.
