Quote from: stuart m on October 12, 2012, 07:53:40 pmyes I had the 5 section 10 meter pole 33ft and can attatch all unger toolsYou can use it only after you spend ages trying to work out in which order the screw clamps have to be undone and then done up in order to extend the pole and then collapse it.
for the day-to-day i use a Harris pole, fitted with a tip from an Anza pole (both are in BnQ . i too have one of those green Unger 5 part poles, they are very awkward to use and heavy as hell, hated by all who use it.
This one - what order do the clamps undo and do up in then? Every time I use it, it does my head in.
I showed my missus what I meant about trying to undo one clamp and then the one turns round underneath so as she can say it, because I'm no good at explaining, and then I type it.Anyway, she actually called me a dork and undid and then done up the clamps with no trouble at all. I've been trying to do it in reverse order to which it should be done.Jeeeeez. I feel a right wally.
Stu - I must be in stupid mode tonight. Do you mean use insulating tape like this?Robert - yes, my missus does have strong wrists. I don't want to brag about 'size matters' but.......... :
eh yes just make sure you can grip the pole/section and twist the clamp above, but that is the idea yes, I even did the same with harris poles, the down side is the closed length is longer
your missus must have strong wrists ,those Unger clamps are a killer to open and close quickly . i find that the first 2 sections of that Unger 5 parter are very useful in domestic trad work and they are very light too,but the 3 bigger heavy sections are where the hate comes in bigtime. i use 4 sections every week on a few 3 storey jobs with a Wagtail squeegee atop but dont think ive ever used all 5 sections
Hi Guys,Im looking to get a longer telescopic pole (for trad) and as i have Unger tools i was wondering if anyone uses one now. I need to know if i can easily fit my current tools on there i squeegee, applicator and possibly a soft brissled brush for hard to reach windows ie cant reach with a ladder.Any suggestion guys, from those that might use a longer pole... thanksSteve
