i've been preparing for winter, got a 4x4 van, winter tires, hot water set up in the van, thermals, gloves hats, flask etc

some might think its over kill but i have a lot of rural work and i'm not prepared to lose out on potentially hundreds or thousands of pounds this winter!

Tyres I'm sticking to the original size 185 65 15 but with some proper winter tyres! Can't wait for it to snow now! Any one wanna buy a doblo off me?

How much did it cost foe a set of winter tyers, and are they C rated for the load.

Excellent choice. Renaults are usually very stable on snow even without 4x4 system

got my set up all installed in the back, 350l upright tank with metal frame done by the cleaning warehouse, it has added mounts for my fogwash heater and a mounting plate for the pump,

with the side door open the heater is pretty much outside and i've made the hoses as short as possible so the DE detection on the controller works very well.

also had the van remapped it was just too sluggish before even when empty, it now pulls much better would defo recommend it.

We have been talking about remaps on another forum and my feeling was that you can't have everything.

Can I ask a couple of questions with regard to this remap please?

Do you know what your before and after fuel consumption figures are?

Why would you recommend the remap ie your experience before and after?

What did they offer you? In other words did they offer everything the remap would do, or did they/ could they adjust it to suit your requirements. What I'm asking is if the 'full' remap gives you an extra 25hp, can you modify that for only 10 or 15hp?

What I'm asking is if the 'full' remap gives you an extra 25hp, can you modify that for only 10 or 15hp? speak to a remapper, i had a choice of 4 different maps i didnt go for the most powerful as i dont want the clutch to splip or damage to the 4x4 system

the remap i went for increased the power from 80bhp/137lb ft to 110/180lb ft, its a different van to drive now much better, the same engine in this van comes in other renaults megane laguna etc with much more power i.e 100/120bhp so its de tuned in the kangoo its safe to up the power.

if your going for a remap just to increase MPG then dont bother its just a sales pitch, manufacturers spend thousands/millions developing engines squeezing fuel economy out of them, do you really think some back street garage with a laptop can make it even better for a small fee? bull shizzle

Remapping only reduces fuel consumption on like for like driving. If you drive at 50 MPH everywhere you will use less fuel on a remapped engine as you are not working it so hard.

Chances are you drive it much faster and therefore use MORE fuel.
