Thinking of buying a Nissan navara for work. As my RO system is home based, I would either fit a tank or use barrels with my trolley system.

Anyone here have a NN and any pros and cons with them ?

i nearly got one of those and as far as I am aware, they have no problems. But, you might want to consider something a bit smaller as your RO system is home based, maybe a partner or berlingo?

 They are very thirsty, 20mpg tops with stop and start use.

 Get a van.

They have had loads of problems,  better of with an mitsubishi L200 ,

I use a L200 trojan it has the smallest load bed but I have a 400 ltr flat tank., check with your insurance company before spending any money ,  Mike

I have a navara on an 04 plate. Love it.

I get about 30 mpg stop start. Worst i have had is 28.5mpg

Every vehicle can have its problems? 02 - 05 can have potential engine problems. Rod out the side of the block due to poor bottom end shells. Can be upgraded or purchase one that has had upgraded shells done. I brought mine of a specialist who upgrades these vehicles for a living.

newer shapes have a poor timing chain design. This 2 can be improved.

Not sure what problems mitsubishi or toyota have.

Got a 350l tank in mine. Could get a bigger one in as long as correct shape. Great comprimise between work and play. Before i had is i hated paying out on a van that i was only working to pay for and didnt use for anything else.

the decision also depends on your budget as well if you plan on buying a relatively new one , The nissan wont be up to the job as they are the same class as a car so the the suspension wont take heavy loads . Mike

I love my old yellow Saab convertible. But now that the London cab has died I really do have to consider a van.

Can't believe how quickly business has picked up and squeezing everything into the Saab is time consuming and a pita.

I actually love the look of these pick ups with 5 seats. So on a purely practical basis which one is best. Budget somewhere between £1500 and £3000.

The Mk1 & Mk2 Ford Ranger / Mazda B from 1999-2006 are a good buy. I don't know of any inherent problems and spares are generally cheap. 25-30 mpg isn't the best but they are very capable and hold their value well. I have a 2002 Ranger Supercab with a 400 litre flat tank and it as most of my work is very rural it copes admirably.

How do you fellas with Trucks get on in the winter from stopping your water tank freezing?
Can you still fit a heater in there ok to keep everything warm?

Only had mine last winter so no probs . But this winter I am going to put an aquatic heater and pump in overnight . And a couple of duvets thrown overtop. Mike

I just sold my L200 with carryboy load cover, year 2000 (V reg) with 130k miles for £2100.

Nice truck, bit thirsty to use as a car (which is what I was doing). I took it to have the tracking done and they couldn't do it because the bushes and links were quite badly worn. Check the leaf springs aren't bent out of shape from carrying too much weights.
