bank transfer payments

dyou guys ever get customers who say theyve paid online but it never turns up . iv had a few this year who swear theyv paid,given me the date of transfer but it never reached me.
im wondering are they pulling a fast one,thinking that im dozy .  or does a glitch happen?  just wondering what you guys experience is of bank transfers

happens to me occasionally but then I ring them back and ask them to chase up their banks as these transactions are mostly instant these days,I have online banking and a phone app also,I can check instantly to see if payments are made, had a customer the other day who told me she had just put money across, I checked straight away and it was there in the account.

i personally have never had a problem paying online either

think i will just strike these customers off ,lifes too short and all that , otherwise theyre getting 1 in 4 cleans for free .
   each of these customers swears the money has been debitted from their account on the said day.  iv told them i didnt get it

could they get a digit wrong and send it to someone elses account ? is that possible ?

Had a customer send 50 quid to a H2o she googled as she thought it must have been me in fairness other guy refunded to her !

i would not think thats likely because they would have to get an account number with a matching sortcode for it to go thru .   when they issue account numbers at a branch i doubt the numbers are consequtive otherwise mistakes between accounts at the same branch would be common
