Ok, my dilemma is this, as funds are abit tight due to layout I don't know whether to buy a cheaper pump I.e pure freedoms for around £100 or this Clarke one and then save for the hf5? What d'ya think?
* I am currently producing 350l per day on the 300 ro but using 600 per day (as topping up with tap water) at work and my psi into the ro is 45. Cheers fin
Fin, I'm not understanding why you can only produce 350l per day but have to top up because you use 600 ?
is this because the vans tank is a 350 ? how are you set up ?
45 psi is enough to get good production from an hf5 (its designed with that in mind) you should be able to produce water at 150 lph + unpumped ( I do ).
If it were me (and it was once, I started with a merlin ro, bad choice, terrible waste ratio ) I'd put my money into a 4040 hf5, then see if I needed a pump and buy one later if needed.
Simon
Hi Simon, right sorry about the confusion. My water is in a 650 ibc in my garage. In my van I have a 600 tank. My water pressure is making the ro look stupid and churning out the 350l per day. Therefore i need to do the top up, I'm doing my first cleans on my round using the wfp at the moment hence going through so much water, tbh if I use my varistream on a #3 all day i usually finish with around 50l. My current 300 ro is from pure freedom, I know I have to change it to get shot of this topping up with tap water problem, but funds are a prob as I've said at the moment but I'll be fine in a few weeks and ready to go for the hf5, I just thought if I needed a pump anyway and it would work on my current ro then I could poss afford it next week and maybe it would double the ibc amount to maybe 600l per day thereby getting me through a working day. What d'ya think, should I just wait for the hf5 and like you said wait on the pump if needed. Ps do you know if the Clarke pump would work on the 300 ro? Cheers
Ok thanks I understand now
Although I dont use a booster pump I would not see a problem with using any clarke pump recommended on here rated to use with a 4040 on a 300 system seeing as its smaller, others maybe able to advise though.
Incidentally have a look at this
http://www.vyair.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=263I have one of their pumps as my delivery pump on the van (is very good)
I may look into the pump they have on that system because I was under the impression from others on here that a pump of that style would be too small on a 4040 ? I need to investigate this as I could definately fit that into my system.
The complete kit looks pretty good (having checked recent prices on Gaps water etc.) and know nothing of their brand of low pressure membrane, but the fact it includes a booster pump (if it works) makes it an attractive package , Simon
