She could have the onset of alzheimer's disease and genuinely doesn't remember the price going up. Alzheimer's disease starts by the older ones forgetting what has recently happened, but their memory is still sharp (perhaps even sharper) regarding things that happened a couple of years ago. Sadly, as the disease  progresses, their memory goes back further and further in time.

You can't always tell as they realise something is wrong but they mask it to begin with - tell tale signs are aggressive reaction just as you described. Stand your ground politely and explain that she must have forgotten. Don't take it personally.

If she has got the disease, then life is going to be shorter and not much fun later on for her, so perhaps a little empathy and pity may not go amiss. If she hasn't and is trying it on, so be it.

It would be interesting if she remembers who you are next time - there is a very small line between them recognising you or the job you do. You will need to be very observant to distinguish between them.

We have lost several customers to the disease over the years as well as me loosing both of my parents to it.

I've got a customer with alzheimer's disease or dementia. I can't remember which.

Over about the last two years I've watched the steady decline. He's gone from a fit, active and able bloke in his early seventies to a shadow who sits all day in his conservatory.

Lately it's really progressed and according to his wife, from time to time and with increasing frequency, his legs give way. Apparently it's because the brain just stops sending the signal. When I called round last time to do his windows his wife tried to explain to him who I was and why I was there but sad to say, his face was vacant.

It's so sad as he was such a smashing bloke who was very friendly and always having a laugh about things.

As posted above, for the first year or so I didn't properly realise anything was wrong but thinking back, all the signs were there but if you're not looking for them, then they're just 'odd'.
Just chant..... Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. It's beats chanting Tory Tory or Labour Labour.

Never thought of that, but she seemed pretty sharp and clearly she could remember my cousin and she knew I was new, thanks for the heads up, I lost my gran to this terrible disease a few years ago
