advertising

Been offered some front page advertising on two local adsheets with a combined monthly distribution 6700 , my thinking is that being on through front page is as good as sending out a solus leaflet .

Anybody have experience of this and what do you think ?

Also what do you think would be a fair price?

if they are offering you it.... then they maybe can't get rid of it.... always barter on the price and deal they are offering.. say sign up for 3-6 issues minimum for £xxxx (whatever you barter too) plus maybe an editorial....

When I say offered I mean I mailed them first , and they offered me front page on two of there five publications , the other three have no front page space at present and have adverts for other window cleaners . Just wAiting for them to email the prices .

Anyone have experience of these ads ?

really depends on how much we have used these in the past and they just about wipe their nose in covering costs

1 was a full page covering 40k homes - they wanted £1,000 for the ad but got it down to £250 all i got was a full
house valet for £300

not front page i know but thats the experience i can give to you,, but try at least to get the best price you can for the advert

Thanks Darran, will definitely barter with them  and the coverage is a lot lower then 40k . A small ad inside starts at about 12 quid for each publication . One of them comes through my door and I always notice the ad on rhetoric front but I never look inside .

Guess it's worth a go if it's cheap enough .

87 plus vat for half the front cover , covering 4000 homes .

Sound reasonable ?

Find out who distributes them and try and cut a deal on leaflet delivery alongside the publication..

Maybe £15 - £20 per thousand???

Get 5K double sided A5 leaflets (£64)...less for A6 (not much though so i go for A5)..

4K delivered @ £20 = £144 (incl)

4K Delivered @ £15 = £124 (incl)

you will have 1K left to dish out yourself...

just another angle

At that price it is worth a punt, and the thing about advertising is you have to try different methods before you find the most effective.
