What Water Pole to use?
« on: September 23, 2012, 01:09:06 pm »
Hi, I have started a new window cleaning business and I am loving it, I have kept my current job on ( Embalmer ) and I hope to be cleaning full time in 6 to 12 months without buying a round. I opened just over 3 weeks ago and have 24 houses.

I use the water pole system and have bought my stuff from soap international but I have been using painting poles from B&Q which seem to work fine.

however when a I get more houses I would like to buy better poles - does anyone have any ideas which are good ones to get without spending a lot - I have seen some poles at nearly a thousand pounds each - is this a normal amount to spend?

Thanks guys

clx will be a better pole than the BQ ones you have(i have one too as a spare)
the slx is better than the clx
main reason being that the slx is carbon were is the clx is a mix of carbon / fibre glass
the clx will bend/whip more than the slx and the slx is lighter

so you have
BQ
CLX
SLX
the clx will be fine for the majority of work you will do but in my humble opinion if you have the money go for the slx or just evolve slowly and buy the next pole every so often

these poles are from Gardiners

in your situation I would start with the clx 27 from gardiners, not to pricey, will get you over extensions and conservatories and will reach 3 storey houses, then you can re evaluate once your earning a little more.

Hi,

Just had a quick look at them, they do look good, I have been advised that some ples only last a few months not sure how true this is thou. A pole from around £200 I am hoping would last some time?

had mine a year now, as long as you take care don't over tighten the clamps they will be fine, when you order it ask fir some spare barrel nuts with it in case you do over tighten, they really are good for a level entry pole
