Water - Can anyone explain
« on: September 20, 2012, 04:00:42 pm »
Hi all

wondering if anyone can offer an explanation on my water please

so this morning filled up some barrels from my storage tank via my water pump / transfer hose

so the as soon as the first barrel is filling i look and see that that water is clearly not right... it had like a white slight powdery look to it... so filled the barrel and towards the end seemed to return to normal... checked the TDS of this barrel - reading 007ppm.

So then checked PPM of storage tank water ... 000ppm

so filled another barrel water looked as it should... reading 0

filled remaining barrels again reading 0

so can anyine offer an explanation on the first barrel please?

only thing i can think of is the pump / transfer pump (which i havent used for a few weeks) maybe water remnants or whatever in pump / hose from last time...

any ideas anyone...

Thanks
Paul

0007ppm isn't too much of a worry, you'll still get a good clean with that.

what colour is the hose, is it clear also what fittings are touching the water ?

Pure water eats into things, it loves cheap fittings if it is sat which it is, I would bet money its the fittings where the water is sat and creating the higher tds on first fill
