Hi,I would strongly advise against using a canvasser, and just get out there yourself, unless you know the background of the guy,I recently used one,I had £5k to spend and I told them this, thinking it would be an insentive, started out ok,but then quickly fell apart, main reason was the canvassers guys were pants (to put it politly),now I cant get hold of him, also the 2 clean aggreement is not worth the paper it's written on,some cancel when you turn up for the first clean, also a lot drop off after the 2nd clean, so alot of messers,I had around £500 of new canvassed work, costing me £1000, now left with around £300, bottom line is though I'm around £400 out of pocket, although flipping it this will generate an income of £3900 over the year, personaly I would not go there again,I am gonna stick to my original plan and buy an esablished round or canvas myself.

even at one clean if you have a %50 cancelation rate it could be costly,

one clean aint bad but try and pay one clean ONLY on work which wants to have you back.

dont accept not happy with clean if the canvasser pulls that trick out his hat tell him you work on the basis you trust my cleaning skills if you dont then walk away now also say you are the final decision maker in regards to the standard of the clean you decide if a job is not up to scratch cosidering the state of the windows before the first clean ie the odd window may need a consecutive clean which is normal. some customers will point at any tiny little microscopic dot just not to say "thanks good job all i want is a one off"
canvassers know that and will try and use that against you

where are you based landy??
I think the thing you need to do is clearly explain what you do and do not want!! Make your pricing structure crystal clear also!!
Can you not offer payment AFTER the first cleans to give you chance to meet and confirm with the custys its a regular clean they want?

get customers to sign a contract that states all terms before cleaning, any good canvasser will not have a problem with this, you lose about 50% regardless if not or this is what I have found.

Hi, Signed contracts not worth paper it's written on,I had peeps cancel as I turned up for first clean, also the canvasser's guys don't explain about water fed pole, even though I had told them too, you,re gonna get good & bad canvassers,if you're gonna go down that road, you need to clearly lay it on the table to them, and make sure they stick to your terms.
