You both use your allowance of 8,105 each, total allowance for tax year 16, 210.
Things to consider:-Does she get paid holiday and does her employer provide a pension when she retires? How many days a week does she work at the mo'? Will she get extra time to use on herself/family/home?How much extra revenue will she bring in as a windy? Besides tax benefit. Can she put up with you in bed/at home/at work as opposed to just in bed/at home?
We are in a similar situation. Window money not yet at a level where it can sustain us both, though hopefully will be within 6 months. Mrs H doesn't drive so 5 days a week I have to down tools and do a 32 mile round trip to take her to work. Costs me a gallon of fuel and I have to pick her up again at 22:00. Its a right pita. She is only on £7.50 ph which equates to £56. Take away my £12 for fuel and it takes her hourly rate down to £5.90. If I take my own time into consideration (ie 2 hours driving) then WE receive an average of about £4.63 ph. Ridiculous isn't it. Unfortunately, we could not survive without her income at the moment.

My partner is the same, can't drive. To be fair to her, she doesn't impact too much on me as she uses public transport alot but I still wish she'd bloody learn.
