hello. had a call of a one off customer complaining that all her windows had spotting even tho the maximum ppm o the tds would be 001-002. 
Im channging the resin every 2 days @ 002ppm just to be same. i have 3 tds meters and a inline meter so itsnot them giving a false reading

what do you all think could be the problem? also about changing the resin every1-2 days is this normal for the ppm volume to rise so quickly? as i dont even get 250 litres of 100% pure water

If you're getting spotting at that tds then your problem is most likely technique, not water quality,...

It's not the water,unless its getting contaminated in its tank,you probably didn't rinse enough,have you tried on your own glass,or even gone to look at the glass in question

try rinsing more or the water could be getting stuck under the rubber or pvc frame and leaving a bead? on those windows try cleaning it a cm below the top frame ,

in a nut shell try not to worry so much ....

as long has you have rinced properly if that particular window isnt coming up point it out to the customer if its pvc it could be the rubber around the window if its old wood it could happen to , if the customer is going to make your lfe hell and force you to ladder work cos of 1 window i would just leave him as he is being unreasonable.

the problem is they see us with this pole and they think we are wizards so they start using eagle eye dont they. funny that they dont notice a rubber mark or smear if it was trad, and the most anoying thing is 95% of the windows inc frames come up perfect that one tiny bead (which aint your fualt its the windows) leads customers to think we need to risk our lifes..

godness me tell him not to expect miracles its a first clean, tell him you will investigate however only rectify reasonable complaints or an inconsistency which in your professional opinion will reclean if YOU the professional feel he has a case taking into consideration the state of the windows before the clean and to the end product

in other words a bead on a window here or there which cant really be seen unless you go close to the window dosnt qualify for a reclean however marks everywhere and in general poor finish does, in my whole life never have i seen 10 out of 10 windows badly effected normally just 1 is and that gets recleaned other times that one is within reason considering the state of the window before hand.


have you already been payed,? even if you havnt i would still stand your ground.
people just love to take the micky if they could get away with it

As said above it could be that you havent rinsed enough. When its hot i find the windows need a little more than when its cool.

ppm @ tap is 192 ppm
ppm out filters before resin is 012

i havnt been back to check the windows yet. but her complaint was that i left the windows wet even tho i explained the whole process to her before carrying out the work. she also said she had to wipe down patio door because they was still wet and it smeared. she is also saying that it looks like i have just sprayed a hosepipe on it because there are marks everywhere.
and a hour ago she mailed me saying she has cleaned all the inside windows and they are deffinately on the outside.

she is saying its every single windows that has all spots on even tho i went over them 3 times and thoroughly rinsed them off.   i have offered to come and check them out and resolve the problem but she said no. thing is one bad word goes along way.

out of the 250 tank that was used i have contacted customers before and after and they said there windows are perfect :S

nah i wouldnt mate thats what she wants to do is get in your head that way she has won, there is nothing wrong with her windows she is making it all up , when i hear i had to reclean all my windows was told this the other day i said "oh behave" , we dont need to lie just tell the trusth you wana cancel np...,

Apart from everything else posted, some of which is pure and utter speculation, have a minimum charge.

Mine is £15. Last year it was £12 and a few years ago it was a tenner.

You may feel that you need the work but a minimum charge saves you a lot of time and ends up earning you extra money.

This custy is a messer!! there maybe a few water marks but on a first clean this should be expected. You have offered to rectify any dodgy windows and she has said no!!
So dont worry about it!!!

what size DI vessel are you using?and whats the tds of your tap water?
