30,000 leaflets going out tomorrow
« on: July 24, 2012, 11:32:29 am »
Thats right we have now started the second phase of this years marketing and will have 30,000 leaflets going out tomorrow. I wanted to start this bit a month ago but the rain killed it for me oh well. we will do a further 30k in one day during the middle of August and a final 30k at the end of September. Very exciting indeed.

The first hundred k gave us an excellent result that is still bringing in customers now, overall about 0.5% total 350 ish being regular round customers with a further 130 ish just for higher value one off jobs with gutters jet washing ect.

I will also say that the one off jobs plus the extra services with the first cleans of regular customers more than paid for the campaign, so in effect we got the regulars for free.

We need another 350 to hit our target for the year of 700 new regular customers. We may fall short but if we do that will be because the never ending rain has put us back on our business plan for the year.

well done lee made up its going well for you takes balls too try something new and slightly risky but we all know customers from leaflets turn out to be decent folk usually as opposed to canvassed customers if u kept on doing that every year you would have some excellent work

Thank you for the great replies (i need inspiration to)

I will do another vid probably near the end of the year so I can show the full extent of the results.

next year I plan to double the size of the area we cover and work up to 50,000 leaflets a month going out by june and 100,000 a month the following year. My plan is for rapid and constant growth.

I now as of spring this year do no work at all on the tools other than training staff.

Hi Lee

congrates and keep it up, I have now just started dropping leaflets again, i was going down the canvassing route but everyone has disappeared without trace ???

anyway I now have some excellent guys and girls dropping me 5000 every week, by xmas I want this raised to 10000 and topping out at 500000 per week 8)

I know that these figures are pie in the sky to some but its my target figure, at the moment I am starting to gain new customers and their first clean payment is going into a special pot to re-finance more leaflets, I have so far got 10000 left, but the fund stands at 20000 new leaflets already, the more I order the cheaper they are, so I am looking at re-ordering 50k this time and 100k next time.

Go for it hydro. just make sure you can cope when it gets busy! you WILL get there if you keep at it no matter what.

cheers for that Lee, I think that I will be able to cope with the business model I use, but of course if too much business starts to come in then I can ease on the brakes a bit, but at the moment, I can cope with about 50 new customers every week.

Just out of interest , do you use a company to deliver your leaflets or do you have your own people ?

Last time he posted he was using jogpost. I'm not sure if this is still the case.

Lee I must admit your method of leafleting has been fantastic to read about. I'd love to be able to pick that much work in such a short space of time. After reading your threads I started leafleting and have put the one off cash back into buying more leaflets. I must admit it is snowballing quite quickly, although it can be hard crashing through first cleans and one off's well into the evenings most days. I have raised the funds lately to buy work from a guy on here but I haven't been able to contact him. If I can't get hold of him to do a deal then I might start doing some big leaflet drops.

hi
just read through your post with interest and had a look at your website (i fell like a troll) i must say you run a professional looking outfit there
from someone just starting out again it gives encouragement to what can be achieved through hard work
ar proves that even in the worst economic climate in history a small businesses can still grow and succeed

i would be interested to know how you started out in the window cleaning industry / did you do it alone / did you have the finances there when you started and how long has it taken you to get to where you are now

ive found myself back in the uk again basically starting from scratch building a round again finances are limited  at the moment but i am  more lucky than some as i already have the equipment / transport to get going again

reading thro other posts its gives a number of opinions as to what windies think is the best way to get new customers whether one offs or regulars some knock others leaflet or advertise in papers etc

what did you do when you started it looks like your preference is leafleting have you always worked this way

regards

you are so consistent lee well done,

lee, you must get the odd messer thou? who says regular then sacks you?
or the ones who are happy to get it regular but at their whim?
do you post them some sort of agreement or just good will like everyone els does it? do you simply just explain the frequency and price and how it works or do you get it on papper?

those are the reasons why i stopped expanding but im still yet to kick off my large scale leaflet drops maybe those problems i been getting was cos of only canvassed customers.

im in some sort of confort zone and i guess mainly its the customers gaining process which annoys me up north when a customer would say "oh can you do mine please £5 a month ney bother son"

down here when someone says can you do mine rather then getting happy that im about to gain a new custmomer i start quizzing them. and working out tactics like ask them do you have any family coming round for 2012? soon as they say yes i then price it as a one off and could possebly loose the job when it might have been regular!

thanks for keeping us updated thou im pleased its going really well too be honest it gives me hope too as we are in similar areas london/surrey and your,re sussex so people like you do inspire others to follow in your footsteps!

I use print mates ltd in redhill surrey. This has been the first time ive used them and they saved me 1/3 on my usual order - im very pleased.

We are based near gatwick and cover parts of surrey, sussex and kent.

of course we get messed around the same as anyone else on here does. I try to have the service explained as clearly as possible from day one. I also take a very black and white view. If we get messed around more than once or twice by a customer there gone, simple.

If you get 100 customers, a year later we may have kept 60 - 70 thats just the way it goes.
