Renting out round
« on: July 22, 2012, 06:35:22 pm »
Thinking of renting out some of our work. What do u think would be a fair split? I was thinking 70/30 in favour of worker.

Thanks

Who in their right mind would work lots of hours in all weather, and give over 1/2 the takings for the privelidge of doing so??

If I was to rent a round off someone, I would be looking at keeping at least 70% if not 80% with a pay back when it came time to hand the round back for keeping it intact for so long...

If you read his post correctly, he wanted to know what a fair price would be, even though I have never done this kind of thing, my fair price would be 55/45

Really??

Well ..... Yes I can see that someone getting paid peanuts for long hours... But ...
I would still need at least 75% to rent a round off someone..

If was £1000 a week of work id want £500 back a week from it at least. Prob why i wouldnt rent as too greedy. Id feel ill only getting a mere 20% for my hard work building for someone else to do the eash part and clean.

You have to look at it for the long term.
Is 20% of turnover on a round such a bad earner considering you don't have to lift a finger once it's rented out?
Also the value is still in the round if you decide to sell it on.

I rent out work and 20% is fair and works well long term.

For something like renting it has to work for both parties.
If it does it will last if not the person you're taking advantage of will move on as soon as they can.
Playing fair can be a good business model and has longevity and you get to be a nice guy.
Grabbing as much as poss works in the short term only.
A manager is generally someone who has been promoted to the position by someone else who didn't see them as a threat.
Hence all people are promoted to the level of their incompetence
