i have a fiat doblo van 1.9 multijet, its a brilliant van had nothing go wrong with it since buying it very reliable, handles weight very well engine pulls like a train and is good on fuel, i have a 350l tank in it but it could easily handle more, twin side loading doors are very useful

the driving position excellant and it drives very well, i also have a 55reg vauxhall combo which is no where near as good as the doblo

I've had a 2007 1.3TD for 2.5 years Dave. Not had any issue with it at all. I bought it in a bit of a rush, wanted a scudo etc really but this came up & was too good to miss. 50mpg fully loaded, never let me down once. Honestly, I can't speak highly enough of these vans mate, exceeded all my expectations. I run a 400ltr flat tank from it. ;) Funnily enough, it came from Ryhill. ;D

Vince,

remember that this is only one barrel and will leave him with 2 different keys - one for the ignition and one for the doors; a pain. The price will be for a lock set -all the same, fitting and then recoding the new keys to the ECU.

Even with just replacing the ignition barrel, a new key still has to be programmed in by Fiat. How do you get the van to Fiat if you fit it yourself? Then their is Fiats £100.00 to do the job.

you can always tape the old key onto the new barrel /shroud which will unlock the immobiliser

Have had a 2006 1.3TD for 6 years Dave. Not had any issue with it at all. I bought it in a bit of a rush, wanted a scudo etc really but this came up & was too good to miss. 50mpg fully loaded, never let me down once. Except when a door lock jammed on the slider and it cost me £100 for a fix. Honestly, I can't speak highly enough of these vans mate, exceeded all my expectations. I ran a 400ltr flat tank from it. ;) Being pre 2007 it is only £130 road tax.

I've amended the above to reflect my experience -  ;D

The 2010 onwards version has more options.
It's a game of three halves!

Had an 07 since new and an 05 since Jan 2008. No problems with either so far. Great little runners, mine does one tank of fuel all month pottering around. Both are 1.3 multijets with 400 ltr tanks

I was a tad worried when I went for it! :D He was a nice chap actually, bit of a shame, he's a sparky & had built a good business contracting to the council but within about 1 month they cut his work to almost nothing! I got the bargain of the century though! ;)
