as an ex employee of the MOD,
there are security checks to be made.
if they are employing you direct, you and your direct member of your family and the same applies to all members of staff have to go through CRB & terrioist check, this normally takes 3-4 weeks.

but until they have all the nessecary info they need you will not be allowed in.

remember to tell your staff to wear id cards at all times and heed restricted areas.

no smoking in grounds or hanging around, and Don't walk on the grass!!!!  they don't like it.

you can be stopped and searched at any time, this applies to your vehicle also, which will have a pass, which must be displayed.

good luck with your venture.

Thanks Lynn, I have had temporary clearance before when I did some contracted work at the Naval Depot. This however is slightly different as it is predominantly office cleaning I cannot see any milatry involvement whatsoever but presume there must be some clerical involvement somewhere which requires this sort of clearance. Any one can access the building apart from the floors I have quoted for. Interesting stuff and of course such clearance can only lead to more opportunity we hope. Thank you for your advice
Kindest regards

this is where your money is!!

hi htere,

i was involved in quoting office blocks, of comapnies that worked for the MOD, absolute nightmare.

it can take months to get all the checks done.

and when we went to the quote meeting, there  were a number of areas in the building that we werent even allowed to walk through, as we and the office staff didnt have clearance to enter.

the question you have to ask yourself, is do you have enough cleared staff for the work in case of illness or if your staf leave your employment.

regards

martin
