Van insurance woes !
« on: June 29, 2012, 05:23:09 pm »
Informed my insurance company of installing 650 wfp system, and they would not insure anything over 500 ltrs !

So had to cancel the policy ( losing money ) and start a new one with Alexander swan, who were very helpful.

I've come across this but solved it by going with A-Plan in Oxford.
It's a game of three halves!

I'm with A-plan, was the only one anywhere near reasonable. I've never ever had a good quote from Alexander Swan, not with my van, not with my modified 200SX that I used to have, not even with my Polo TDI.

My wife's hairdresser also does a bit of mobile hairdressing. While out on route to a customer she had an accident with her gear in the back of her car.
Her insurance company has "voided" her policy and the other driver is sueing her for £4,000. Don't mess with insurance companies, they are just looking for an excuse.

Those of you who drive round with ladders on the roof of your cars ought to take note.

Adrian Flux are the cheapest around for me, tried all the above plus a few others and they were still hundreds £ over what I got.

The good thing about the new policy with alexander is. . . .  if someone should pinch me van, or it is written off they will provide me with a full working wfp van to keep me working.
