Hi

Can anyone take care of a job in Chigwell. Basically she has got chocolate on her mum & dads leather sofa, and the chocolate wont come off!

You know whats coming next. After probing her for answers (very soft, very expensive, absorbs etc) I suspect that the sofa is an aniline, hence the difficulty in removing it.

I have not seen it, its way too far for me. So if anyone is capable of restoring (which it may well need) then please let me know and I will pass her details on.

If it is an aniline you coud just try heating it with a hairdryer.  Have had great success with this on many an occasion. No harm done if it doesn't work but often enough heat to melt the chocolate and then it just dissipates.  Success depends on the type of finish.
If it doesn't work it may be difficult to remove without degreasing etc which may also involve colour restoration - just done a restoration on an aniline handbag and had to work very carefully with pigments to do the job as dyes ould not cover the damage.

As mentioned already Judy - I wont be taking this on as its too far, so looking for a suitable CC to take it on (if they want it).

I havent seen it but she did say that she has already attempted to remove it herself, hence its probably gone further in to the leather as opposed to surface.

There must be some people in Essex that can do this.

The point is she could try this herself.  If it has gone deeper into the leather the chances are that it will work.  Just trying to help with advice you can pass on.
