Have to quote on velvet curtain cleaning, can anyone help on pricing and best way to clean.

I'm am no expert - but in the past I have used this method with excellent results;
1.  Hoover thoroughly, as one should.
2.  Dry steam vapour cleaner - it helps if you have ajustable settings for the suction and steam vapour and                     turn both to low.

DO NOT RUB ANY OF THE PILE - if damp

Although I dont generally use solvants someone may back me up and say that this is perhaps the only safe method of removing marks - they dont like water.

Depends if they are a natural velvet ie cotton/even wool, or synthetic velvet. once you have established that go ahead with the cleaning method that suits.

in situ curtain cleaning
1, Brush curtain to dislodge dust
2, Pre vac remove dust
3, Apply dri pro by misting onto the curtain
4, leave for 10 minutes get customer to make you a cup of tea
5, using a clean white terry towel draw down the pile, Show customer towel they will be able to see dirt
6.Vac to remove excess dri pro
7. Brush going with the pile

Linnings we normally give them agood brush and vac.

Have had good success with this method.

I agree with John. Stay well away from using steam if your not sure what fabric is.
Unless you fancy owning some new curtains
