Hi everyone I have a question about jet sizes I have a 150 psi machine and have 2 jet wand it has 3 s in it I used a mates 2 jet wand with 1s in it which the spray was to fine but can I use 2s in it I have a magma heater and with the smaller jets I felt it worked better so using a smaller jet could make it slightly better

You can put whatever size jets in that you like.

01s will give you a lower flow rate but a higher pressure.
06s will give you a high flow rate but low pressure.
It is all a matter of balance depending on the rated pressure of your pump but more importantly the flow rate.
A bigger pump such as on a TM will give a high pressure and high flow rate with 06s because of the size of pump and power available to drive it.
A rug d====r will give poor pressure and flow rate because it has a small rated pump.
You will find that most tools are matched to the machine they come with for optimum performance for that machine.
Check the jets to see if the holes are worn, brass jets wear quite quickly and stainless one although more expensive last for years. That's your starting point.

I have bought this wand & used it only a few times atm... does anyone else have one of these & how does it rate?

My issue is that i have a 150psi Shurflo induction pump in my ninja but i dont seem to get a nice satisfying powerful spray at the jets... now i understand that the more jets on the tool end will translate to less water pressure... so im sure i feel that the solution to the "low Pressure" would be for me to just change the jets (even if they are new... ) so could someone please recommend which jet size i would need to go for please...
i will upload a pic of the jet size thats on there at the moment
• 12" S bend
• K-valve brass 1200 PSI
• 1/4 male quick disconnect

• 3 jet setup using a brass V-jet with inline filter
• Comfort grip assist handle

with a portable popular thinking is it should add up to 6. so 2x3 or 1 x 6 or 4 x 1.5 or 3 x 2

the first number are the angle of the spray pattern so you have 1.5 flow at an angle of 95degrees

Ahhh i see Thanks.
so based on that equation are you saying that ideally the three jet nozzles on this wand would ideally be 2's
but if they were 2's then i would have even less pressure through the nozzles...
In my opinion the 1.5's arent giving me enough power/pressure already...
would i need to get 1's do you think? im just trying to make the best of what i have with my 150psi pump without having to take my machine to ashbys to pay the megabucks for the 400psi pump/system install upgrade...

I just took off one of the jets from the wand... its got like i presume an "Anti drip" mechanism inside? would this do anything pressure wise with the jets do you think?

Just a thought here if your pressure is low, check that the filter in you tank is not clogged with crap.

Surely its different according to what presure you operate at so not all portables would be the same?

Heres the anti drip mechanism... i decided to take it out & leave it out... i put the jets back in to the wand & hey presto! unrestricted flow & good pressure
stupid idea those things if they restrict the flow negatively through the jets... i can live without them as ive never had any problems not having those in other tools...

youll just have to imagine a small mechanism that has a small ball on the end of a spring & then a hollow meshed screw in bolt which screws in to the inside of the actual jet nozzle itself...
Anyway ive taken it out as it was restricting the spray...

sounds like you need to soak the filters you have taken out in lime scale remover or an acid based solution overnight I use 2 x 03 stainless

Yes... you would think that, but the wand is new & ive only used it 3 times & then put it in the shed as tbh i was not impressed with it the first time... i looked/checked at these anti drip mechanisms & they dont appear to be blocked or clogged & appear to be functioning fine... they just seem to restrict the flow through the jets thats all... & if its a choice between unrestricted flow pressure over stopping the occasional drip, then i know which one im choosing 
i have a bigger problem now anyway, my powerbrush bar where the jets to that screw in appears to be cracked at the middle... it is 13 years old now though... but i fear its difficult enough to source jets alone never mind about the actual bar they screw into i guess its going to be another expensive trip to ashby's to get that replaced 
unless anyone knows where i can get one?
