DIY LIDL GUTTER VACS??
« on: May 30, 2012, 08:04:00 pm »
A while ago a few of you went out panic buying hoovers from Lidl's, with the intension of making your own gutter vac.

Any joy? Does it do a good job?

If the answers yes, then I might have to look into doing this myself.

Mine did a good job , but having said that a house i cleaned last year had grass growing out the top of the down pipe about 3 months after i cleaned them so you will need a ladder to inspect first which i did not at the time . MIKE

Good pictures,  I had already bought a gutter vac from gutter vac systems, but I've since made some 2" guttering pipe to make a selection of custom heads similar to P@F's

There is no such thing as a coincidence !!!, I never realised people were panic buying these Vacs , when i got mine, last year looked good and cheap
Its a Parkside £59.95.

I have a quote to produce tonight , but yet to obtain the poles ,

Is it a standard connection that Guttersystems supply that will fit my wetVac ?

Cheers

I made up a selection of different width ends and some angled ones - the wide ones cope pretty well with pine needles.
I can also do 90 & 180 degrees - which helps with gulley cleaning

These are the mods i have just made , i did them because in drier weather the minifit gutter angles were not coping with larger lumps of debris , lots of blockage was occuring , i went for flexipipe and made up the ajustable slider you see to get the angles for most types of gutters .
The parts used were roofing bolts and wing nuts ,  galvanised steel flat plate , all from wickes , the flexi pipe was a lucky find 20M for £20 !
I have cut the flexi into managable lengths so i only need to use what is needed , this helps no end in the fact that a longer pipe means loss of suction .

Hope this helps !

Rich
