First job this morning was a commercial building, and decided to WFP it for the first time. THE RESULTS WERE SHOCKING TO SAY THE LEAST. I was in direct sunlight at 7.30am. My TDS reading is at 011, which im aware is not ideal. The flow was relativly slow but I gave them a good clean and rinse.
Once dry, the windows were covered in spots and streaky all over, so got the trad gear out but even then I couldnt shift it. Something is not right. Ive spoke to the owners and said i will try and find a solution, and get the windows back to normal.

The picture below is some of the windows that ive ruined, but you cant see the spots/streaks.

tds should be more or less OK. Check to see if frames are oxidized by running a wet finger along them and if your finger gets coloured by the frame that is the problem. Do this on the sunny side of building as this will be the most oxidized. If there are rubber seals do the same with these.

Other than that it could be that they were just very dirty and you need to use a higher flow rate and spend more time on the glass and frames.

We have some similar. They may have a coating on them and along with being in full sun it seems to leave some of  them spotty. If trad gear can't shift it I would presume it is the glass coating.

Have you cleaned these windows before the traditional way?if so wot was in the bucket?  is this the first time using wfp?

The frames seem good and newesh so I don`t think there is  no problems with the frames and would say you need a bigger flow rate i had this a week back on a town house not cleaned to 2 years had gone over 4 times before it was fine. My pump delivers 3 litres a min and I feel it should be at least 5 litres a minute as we float the dirt off we need water on the glass to do that. Don`t panic just try to suss it out.

firstly I would look at your water, and try to use 000 so you can rule it out, it is not a good idea to have 11 tds when your first starting let alone know what your doing.

My guess is you didnt clean them right and the sun baked on the bits you missed.


as I say lower the tds then you cant blame the water, I have been cleaning today in the baking heat and not had any problem, but then again I no my water is perfect.

Ive just ordered new resin. Ive cleaned more houses with it today and they have been perfect. Its something to do with their glass.

The problem I have is that we couldnt shift the spots and marks etc with the trad gear so I need some other solution how to get them clean???

if it limescale then use lime scale remover, and do not do it in the sun it will be a nightmare

The glass as a coating to reflect heat it is used on a lot of modern offices wait until it is not sunny , maybe even raini ng and do them again with high flow rate a least 2lt per min.

Cleaned them trad loads of times, fairy in the bucket and yes first time wfp

Thats the sort I was refering to. The marks have been there for years and wont go.

because IMo they suck the heat in and then delects it back out, same inside I was at a new offlibe block the others day and they had this on they get red hot too. they called me because they had tried (understatment) to clean it and was a mess

  They look like anodised aluminium frames, they are a pain in the rear at the best of times due to the pitted nature of the frames surface, they are always difficult to clean, let alone in hot sun.

  Try to keep away from the frames and do not do any lower pane until dripping has stopped from above.

I had this last wed,wfp a shopfront after tradding for 2 months previously,results were awfull,soon went back to trad,and am sticking with it for shopfronts quite enjoy it as well

hard water marking or somthing like it looks like aluminium frames like leaded windows  there is a residue run off when rain or wfp work

My guess is the marks were there before & it's nothing to do with todays wfp clean.

Newbies to wfp are often paranoid over "spots", you WILL see spots & marks on some glass that you never even noticed when trad!

That and the fact that they have been done trad before. Rinse rinse and rinse some more.
