Cranial osteopath
« on: May 25, 2012, 10:53:40 am »
Has any one any experience of using a cranial osteotath?

Ive just been to see one for a work related injury in my right shoulder and an injury in my right fore-arm, which has been exacerbated my an associated sports injury.

I couldnt help thinking whilst lying there that this is costing me a wedge of dosh and I cant see how it works. Very relaxing but will it improve my physical health?

Id be curious to know if anyone has any experience or knowledge of this kind of treatment.

Ive got an appointment booked in for next Thursday, will be seeing a different osteo but at the same place. This one is called Juliette, if Juliette dont look much cop I might have to knock it on the head and go elsewhere at those rates  ;D

TIA

Matt

Both sides of the argument here: http://www.badscience.net/2004/09/cranial-osteopathy/

Hope that helps, though it does get a bit extreme at points.

I tend towards Ben Goldacre's view.  He's not anti-anything, just anti-pseudoscience.  His book "Bad Science" is one of the funniest, most refreshing books on science I've ever read.

... I might have to knock it on the head ...

Matt

Is that what cranial osteopathy entails?
