Upvc repair, how? - pictures inside.
« on: May 22, 2012, 07:20:53 pm »
Been asked if I could repair this, got some pictures sent to me by a PA of a customer of mine. Penthouse suite @ Thames so might as well attempt it as I'm there to clean the windows on Thursday.

Pics here :

Not entirely sure what to make of this, just a case of glueing the upvc trim back in place?

Should just click back in with a white rubber mallet

Yes that's correct as above use a beading hammer or mallet. Clip both ends in and work into the middle to finish.. I've done a million of them

Thanks guys. What about the rubber, does it go in the channel of the trim? I'm sure it's self explanatory when I get there, but just want to make sure.

hi tim,as mentioned earlier just clip the bead back into place-thats old kommerling pvc so should just clip in working from the corner then into the middle(bend the bead so it engaged into each corner then push into place-no mallett needed)the black rubber gasket will push into place-again starting at each corner, don't worry if it seems a bit longer than needed and don't snip it to suit just squeeze the excess in if you have to(they reduce in lenght over time-hence it could be longer)from the photo it looks like you'l have to retreive the outer gasket/rubber and put back in place first thoughps the white plastic part of the rubber faces away from the glass
