That is true.... may be I shouldn't say this but the next big thing for window cleaners is coming. Ive seen it. I don't how to describe it...... Facebook for windys???, I don't know but done in a  specific window cleaning way, where you can hook up to cross over to another industry for passing work on that is not in your field.

That means office cleaners who do not window clean will pass work across and sub to you. Big Nationals and big cotracts will tender on this site wanting your services!

Imagine your business profile page with your pic, imagine a friends list you really want ( you can pick who you interact with), imagine buttons for marketing advise, employment advise and health & safety advise. Imagine a button to a public area where you know every bodies details and can see their profile pics instead of a silly random pic of a cat or dog ( for those missing a bit of forum banter )
Imagine a button to sell a round or equipment, imagine a button to click from your profile page if you want to add more work to your business, imagine a more fun networking experience that you are with people that are interested in a window cleaning business whether its to grow or stay where they are, whether they want to be informed of the latest tax law or advise on growing their business to dizzy heights.
Imaging the stores button that has negotiated the cheapest price around on the strength of this websites members. Imagine linking in all the share buttons, your website.......

That is a place I want to be :)

There are more than just twitter where this is happening, Linkedin is one or networking clubs are another.

It would be nice to have a site where all this happened, but would it help the small guy? at first yes, but as soon as it becomes sucessfull especially about tendering opportunities or links into companies with you company information and what you can offer.

This is when the big boys will weigh in with vasts amounts of money and marketing professionals plugging their companys, that is when the small fish will starve again.

You can set up as many networking events as you like, the few I have attended were full of desperate people desperate for business! The business people with contracts to hand out probably go elsewhere (freemasons)?

Never seems like a winning formula to me. I think if you've got contracts to hand out you probably have no need to attend anything you can just get on with your work, swear at your friends and colleagues ... sodumall  because you da man with the pursestrings.

The system has not been thought through really.

You should pay the people making money to attend and then they can get the desperados to perform embarrassing tasks for them and then the big cheeses can pick the ones which amuse them the most. That would be brilliant but I think Simon Cowell beat me to it!

I'm not a cynic by the way I'm an optimist .... my glass is half clean  ;D ;D ;D

Brilliant!

I've learned loads off of the folk on this forum, Lee; I'm sorry you don't feel it works for your interests.

I hope you will see sense and stay - but if you do there's no need to be offensive - either put up a cogent rebuttal to points made or stay quiet and not get wound up.

Im back !  ;D

you left?? i cant say i noticed :)

Will twitter be the new forum. Twitter is a little more controlled than a forum.

And besides, since when has controlled been better? Uncontrolled maybe mayhem, but you can sift through the bumf. Controlled generally is open to abuse by whoever is controlling it.
In the words of one of our controllers..........are we clear?

Not true - this new site votes on if it wants advertisers, who they will be and if and which charity we will donate the money too :)
