What do you lot charge per hour if you got a big inside clean to do and your not sure how long it will take,im thinking of telling this customer it will be x amount an hour on the 1st clean untill i know what it is.

When I do an hourly rate like that I tend to say it is say £15 for the windows then I usually say £30 per hour. Although with an inside clean I tend to charge 1.5 times the cost of th outside clean.

I was thinking of charging £40 an hour as this can be earnt cleaning 3 houses on the outside in an hour.
Was thinking £40 might be to steep though so thought id ask every1 else what they would charge.

I wouldn't tell the customer an hourly rate if I were you... It will put them straight off!

Just work out roughly how long it will take you and charge quote a total figure?

Thats the trouble in a big house with georgian windows and i havnt got a. Clue how long it will take ,if i was to guess i would say around 6 hours for the inside.
I quoted them £50 for the outside because i can get round it quite quick with a pole in about 90 mins or less.
Just dont wanna stitch meself up lol

I always charge 2x outside clean. Takes less time to do insides as the windows are all closer together.
I have one property i charge £20 for as they have leaded windows, not really that big of a property but they asked me to do insides and i instantly said yep, £40. Took an hour to do outsides and 25mins to do insides as insides were not leaded and bladeable

i get too embarrassed to give my hourly rate.  if youre unsure just charge 1.5 x outside but say it may vary depending on how long it takes

I've yet to see a property that the inside windows are closer together than the outsides

Just explain to them that it's going to take most of a working day to clean the insides because of the type of window they are and then give them the figure... If they say its too expensive then don't worry about it... There is nothing worse than going in low and then regretting it.

i have a pretty big house i clean every 6 weeks £30 and every other clean i clean the insides as well for £40 so £70 every other clean.it takes me around an hour to do insides,45 mins outsides so including driving to my next job around 2 hours for £70(that usually includes a coffee as well she normally makes for me!).

the windows are not georgian though.id defo charge 1 and a half times the outside price.

i normally refuse inside cleans as i cant be bothered but i relent for bigger posher accounts.get some shoe covers as well mate so you dont have to take your boots off!!

Get a zero degree squeegee as sooner or later you will need it.

its always hard to price these but in theroy if you do 2x the outside even if you dont earn as much as you do in a normal day lets face it you wont starve to death!
then next time you can up it or down it.

Google Ettore Contour pro plus, Unger make one as well.
Great for skylights, conservatories and with your pole in a horizontal position.

CLIFF why cant you squeegee the insides surely you just need the right size channel and cut a rubber down to fit , i have a telescopic ladder which is great for high insides .

Also if it takes you 90 mins for outsides you are defo looking at 5 hrs for insides it is a bit nerve racking when you know you have to put in a high price ,

But do you want to work 5 hrs getting under paid and wishing you never agreed to do it at a knockdown price . on a normal 3 bed house or similar i would charge 1.5 times usual price ,

But for a big one off job like this you need to charge about 2.5 - 3 times .  MIKE

Don't be scared to put in a high price! If they say no what have you lost?? Nothing as you never had it to begin with! Don't undersell yourself. If you think it will take 5 hours then charge what you want to earn a hour by 5. I never agree on a hourly figure with customers as they would probs faint if I told them

i try to make sure my lot do insides several times a week,to keep the speed up.  sounds like you are out of practice  otherwise you would know exactly how long it takes
