hydramaster pump problems
« on: May 06, 2012, 09:50:21 am »
I had a problem last year with the pistons in the pump breaking. Last time I had to buy a new pump head but as it was bank holiday and could not get any parts or replacement, have stripped the pump completely. Does anybody have any of the castings that go around the cam that drive the piston or complete pistons to get me out of a problem Can anybody tell me why they break like this both occasions two of the castings have broken. Any body that is in the know with replacement oil seals for these pump please point me in the right direction.
Thanks

Peter

difficult to identify pump properly as is italian manufacture for hydromaster type lws3525 hydrapump 2. But looking at it I would say the same pistons etc as I had in my spitfire 4.0. I think that these pumps are all similar as are used on other machines.
If you are happy to send the pump to me if it in no good I will return or see if I have any way of repairing for you or will return. I will reimburse the postage or whatever etc if your are happy to do that.

there are only so many manufacturers of pumps commonly used in T/m most are Cat Comet/General & Interpump your pump will be one of these but H/M USA conceal the name so you can't buy direct at a reduced  price.

do you use the TMF forum? you could post a picture of your pump and someone would know its make

this is my pump.... any use?

I think its the same as got on our phoenix

Try dual pumps - Im sure they carry spares for this type of pump
also try David Ingram - he is also  a sourse of good information on this type of pump
Hope this helps

The first photo is the broken piston with the cam. the other photos are of the complete pump. I would imagine that a lot of these pistons are the same if made by the same manufacturer.

Mike, if you don't mind sending the pump/pump head to me I would gladly re-imburse you the carriage.

If anyone else is able to help in any way it would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Peter

It will most probably be a Comet pump. Oil seals are a POP to change and all.

Don't say that Glynn, I paid something like £500 for HM to change mine last time  :'(
It also occurred to me I could have bought a new pump for that - lesson learned.

Yes today I found out mine is a comet pump thats on a HM spitfire 4.0

Peter, Manchester pressure washers can get parts, I think they have to order them in though.

(LWS 3525 same as mine)
