Price rise ... customer reaction

Today started putting up prices .. note with slip if they're out or tell them there and then if they're in.

One lady when I told her she was going from £12 to £14 reacted by saying "yes no problem I understand everything else going up and so long as you stay in business thats the main thing" .....  :D :D

Bottled on one old guy who when he came to the door told me I was lucky to find him home as he's been away a lot getting chemo for his throat cancer  :'( :'( ... left him at a tenner

i have had good reaction from all but one customer, i said to this old boy, this is the first time i have put up the price of your windows, he said no it's not, i replied i don't think so, so he said if you don't think so, don't come again.

what could i say to that.

I lost 2 customers out of around 150 price rises.they kick in this month.already noticed a difference in extra earnings.its all good! ;D
price higher/work harder!
