ive never ever had a problem with vents above windows.just make sure water doesnt go up inside them then youll have no problem.pencil jets are very accurate.just be careful!! dazmond
thats exactly the way to do it.
sean i always brush over them with the water turned on but i just make sure i dont squirt water directly into the vent!! never had any problems!!
Hii give vents a good going over on a first clean, above and even inside the vent itself!!! this gets all the dirt out! i do this so that any clean after i have no problems, i not had any problems yet!! lol just make sure that you allow time for the drips then give a good rinse. i think the key is in the first clean.Mick
are you cleaning with backpack sean, do you put it on a cheap trolley, im getting one idea to carry a 25litre drum as well as backpack if trolley base large enough. how you getting on with backpack techniqus
Hi Sean when useing wfp the important thing to note here is that vents can be different, some it is difficult to get water into them others YOU JUST CANT AVOID IT.I had just such a job the other day . Although previous wc used wfp he did not clean frames. consequently he always left runs etc.the vents were the ones that had no cover so water WILL POUR IN. So I washed all frames glass and vents thoroughly.customer came out complaining but explained. hang on I have not finished yet.As assumed the vents dripped, went around again .Did just the glass in a fraction of the time. The lesson here is price the job right LOOK at things like vents and factor them in. YOU MUST. In future on this job I will AVIOD the vents alltogether and they wont be a problemAlan Pristine window cleaning
the key is the first clean, this is what i do on all first cleans, go round all frames, sills and vents first giving them all a right good scrub and rinse making sure all the dirt is rinsed away, then start back at the first window and do all the glass, i always have a high flow rate on first cleans, you want to be rinsing everything away! don't be afraid of vents just make sure on the first clean they are well rinsed and you will never have a problem,
Forgot to add, on the first going over I brush over the vent with the flow off, turn flow on then clean window. Second time going over the window dont touch the vent, just clean glass then rinse.
Flow on giving a good rinse inside and outside of vent until water runs clearthats what i do . If you dont go all out first time you risk having probs with dirty runs every time after . Mike
